My system runs this fine..
I have been reading these fourms for a while now about all the performance issues that people are having. I just got the game installed yesterday and I and running it run on very high settings with AA off. I get 60 fps over towns and 90 fps over channel this is with over planes and bombers as well
My specs are I5 3.3 4GB RAM 6950 I have read people having worse performance with specs better than me why is it working fine for me |
Are you sure you didn't install secret weapons of the luftwaffe instead?
Sorry, without proof and telling us what settings you are using we aren't going to believe you :) |
Interesting, I think lots of people would like to see your conf.ini file;)

whats that smell, smells abit like Bull------to me:rolleyes:

mines running fine too... no crashes graphics glitches or anything nasty like that... not running at max or even med but with some video option tweaking ive getting respectable/playble FPS
|
My performance is fine...all on High settings except Trees & Buildings on Medium
Approx. 60 fps over the sea.. 25 - 40 over land, that's fine with me. Anything over 20 is perfectly playable. Win7 (x64) E8400 dual core @ 3.6 Ghz GTX 480 4 GB (1066) Ram SSD HD x-fi extreme music 1680x1050 resolution |
Is there a good fps counter like in game one using console other than fraps because when I go to take a screenshot there is no fps counter in the shot.
|
Yep, FPS is good, but that stuttering is not good, smooth,stuttering,smooth......

anyone know what the button to bring up console tried all the normal buttons

It's interesting that most of the folks reporting better performance seem to have less than stellar hardware - it's almost as if the machines it was developed on weren't current "top gen" either and there's some features out there in the uber-Gfx/CPU setups that's crippling something-or-other unexpected.
|
Well Im having a lot of fun. I just got my new GPU and all. All on max exept buildings and forrests on high not maximum and 2xAA and on fullhd resolution. No problems flying 30planes over London. Yes I do have slight stutters from time to time, and few gliches here and there but the game is perfectly playable on my pc. Plus as I have secondary display running a cpu usage meter I can see all 4cores stressed (well more because of virtual cores). It is beautiful, I just can´t seem to get the hang of the menus and missions. I liked the old QMF from IL2.
|
Hmm, both the people here reporting running it great have 2 gb of video ram. Could be connected.
|
S!
To bring up console press Shift + Tab. Then type fps SHOW START and press Enter. Shift + Tab to exit console. I wonder why they changed the command from IL-2? |
My performance is poor, but I have no stuttering whatsoever (probably due to SSD).
|
No lucky with the shift tab just brings up the radio command
|
Running fine here too but over land it slows down a bit though. I don't know if it's because there are as many different setups as there are people playing this game but I for one haven't had a single crash or freeze so far. It's unbelievable but it's really solid, too bad the optimization leaves some to be desired. Everything at med-high@1600x900 resolution. God! I just love cruising in my 110 over the glittering channel:grin:

Its because it uses tons on VRAM on the GPU, its purely based on GPU it seems at the moment, surely the load needs to be spread out a bit?

say that very often stuttering and low FPS are memory related and to HD access speed, if you exclude coding problems... So your observation is logical.... Salute ! |
Personally I think it's due to poor optimization, I've read examples where rather modest rigs plays the game just fine. After that first patch it really improved for me. Kinda like a 6 cylinder engine running on only 4 cylinders or something.
|
Ok got the console up. They must have changed the command to bring up fps cos fps SHOW START is not working. The one thing I have noticed is when you play in cockpit fps drops alot I play with it off. I get about 60-70 with cockpit on over the channel and 50-60 on land and without it about 20fps more. No stutters tho so it feels like no fps has dropped had to use fraps to see that.
|
Off topic abit, But I got through a few campaign missions last night and when I go to play now it starts from the beginning wtf
|
not in this order. Buildings(freezes the PC), trees(the higher the more stuttering), shadows and grass. For the rest of settings I didn't notice too much difference.

I can run CoD playable with all settings off and on low. Wich is absolutly redicules with my system.. So either ur full of bs, or u have found some hax wich fixes the problem. |

X8 AA grass and all that checked ON. 1680x1050 the frames drop over land sure... but its butter over water. |
I manage to get 30 FPS over the sea with 3 vs 3 dogfight. Drops when closing, exploding etc. Medium settings, grass, shadows off, trees low. Driver settings AA: app controlled, AF app controlled, Texture pref: HQ, MipMap: HQ, Vertical Sync Off, Catalyst A.I.:Off. I don't want to talk about FPS above ground.
|
Wow. The sim looks great.
I set buildings and building details to minimum - runs like a charm and looks just great (40 FPS over ground, 80+ FPS over the channel). i7 920 @ 3.6 GHz 6 GB RAM @ 1800 MHz GTX 485 WinVista 64bit Running at full details (except building and building details) @ 1920x1200. Lovely customization options. And I just love the Hurri! Btw: My system uses 3.8 GB of RAM. CPU usage 90, 50, 20, 20. |

I have average 60 fps over land but the micro-stutters are no good. Once the stutters are patched it should be fine.

I find it very hard to believe that the OP can run the game flawlessly on high settings. I can run it on high setting, but still get the odd stutter and slow down.
I am running it on a system with an Intel i7 2600k@4.6GHz, Gigabyte P67A-UD7 motherboard, 8GB of 1600 Ram and 2xGTX580's (although no SLI on this game yet) - and a 256GB C300 SSD. It is something with the game that'snot quite right, not the system. |

This is my first post here so please forgive me. It's not intended to be a whine but...
See my sig for what I'm running and I am pretty disappointed to have turn AA off and every thing down to Medium and still get only 25fps in free flight over England. More than that there is clearly stuttering going on that is unrelated to FPS. I am willing to give the developers some time to sort it out, but I'm disappointed when I had such fond memories of IL2. :( I'll keep playing with settings to see if I can get an improvement, but I'd rather be learning to fly than fiddling with graphics options! |

I will have to wait till April 18th for my game to ship, I paid for 2nd day air. so hopefully I will be flying on the 20th. I just hope COD does as well as ROF. |
i agree with the previous post, vidio RAM is the bottleneck, my system ( intel i5, 3 gb memory, ngforce 240 1gb) was running very jerkily, I've turned landscape rendering video options right down and now its nice and smooth and still looks loads better than the old il2

ASUS Sabertooth mobo
i7 950 o/c @ 4GHz 6Gb RAM EVGA Superclocked Nvidia GTX570 750W PSU Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit TrackIR4 running TrackIR5 software Saitek X52Pro and Pedals First impressions out of the box... Left 'as installed' (Medium settings), FPSs 58-60 (Samsung Monitor is 60Hz refresh) over water, dropping further into the 50s over land. Running the Spitfire and Hurricane Free Flights. High Settings, 40-50 over water, dropping into the 30-45 over land in a Blenheim over the island atolls and even further to 15-30 at low level with a face full of trees. I'll be turning the grass off and playing with more settings tomorrow but for starters it isn't bad. My friend is running i7 3.4GHz, 6Gb RAM and Nvidia 255 (265?) and getting 17-30 with medium settings. All the above noted when flying on his game PC acting as a server for us. Blenheims were 6 off. Too early to tell really but it could be a GPU issue, our 4 cores were not much taxed. My low level run had the first thread of each core loaded as approx 75%, 30%, 15%, 10% and ~3Gb RAM used. How do I measure GPU RAM used? Views seem a bit more restricted than IL-2, especially in Gunsight view which limits head movement to about 90' each side. My TrackIR IL-2 settings seem a bit twitchy in BobTheCod, more to investigate. Not the most objective report, just an indicator. |
I am starting to see a pattern as well...
Guys with duel (2x) GPUs seem to be getting far more issues than others guys with single GPUs. Maybe COD has a major issue with SLI and CROSSFIRE configurations - Well, I should add, over and above the fact that SLI doesn't work at the moment. Interesting. |

See here: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=19819 Also some useful settings guides as a first pass. |
I seem to have very reasonable performance. at all high settings. 2xaa. not that AA looks like it has been enabled correctly.
I7 920oc to 3.8 8 gig ram 2wd 250gig in raid 0 ati 69502gb 11.4 beta drivers from guru 3d seems to me if you start with medium settings it plays like a slide show. I went all the way down to low everything. When I put all settings to high except for enabled roads and grass it played very well 30 - 60 FPS. might consider trying to lock fps at 30 ? might help the stutters ? |

It's playable on my system but certainly not as smooth as RoF or CoD
black ops. I also noticed some missions are smoother than others even if both are over water . Another big factor when it comes to PC gamers is the software people have on their machines , anti virus , background stuff ....etc. You could have 10 people with identical computers and all of them would probably get different performance results  Asus MB AMD 955 be @ 3.8 6 GB DDR 2 dual channel GTX 280 1gb |
SLI and i7 2600K @4800 Ghz and for now doesn't run good.. i'm looking for the cores setup in config..
Wil tell more later results |

i5-760;
HD6870; 4gb ddr 1333; 2x 7200rpm hd's (1 for windows, other for installed games); Freetrack - ps3 eye; All stock. 1920x1080 Bought from justflight yesterday, tested today... in the first run it ran with heavy stuttering, all medium except building detail and building density (or whatever it is called) that are on low, 2x AA. After that i ONLY changed the ";ProcessAffinityMask=3" to "ProcessAffinityMask=15" and the game now is smooth. I tested over land and water, with 6 x 6 fighters and it only slows down when you're flying low and it access the HD to load buildings and trees. I think it need a lot of optimizations, but i guess it won't take much time to make it run better on lower specs PC's. Sry for bad english. |

I find it quite playable. I am not getting stutters like others are saying. London does hammer it a lot, 20fps by Tower Bridge verses 80ish heading east towards the sea. I dropped my res to 1280x800 and medium settings. Still nice to look at :)

I am running fine as well. e8400 4 gigs of ram 4870 1 gig graphics card.
What I remember though is that because we had problems with optimization with DCS a-10c is that I disabled alot of things in my bios. CIE, multithreading and the like. Don't know if this is responsible but be aware that although you have decent hardware that many MANY software things can wreak havoc. also if you have 2 graphics cards for multiple screens etc, try just using your best graphics card. many users on Eagle Dynamics forums had good results with this. edit link: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68060 |

I got it running between 30-50 on water with this conf. They only thing left is to wait for the patches.
Quadcore 2 2.5 ATI 5770 1GB 4GB RAM Win 7 64bits |

I should have mentioned I'm running 1680,1050 and my low level run with the poorer fps had AA set at x8. |
