How on earth is it working so well there

recoilfx 03-31-2011 05:27 PM

What's up with the darkened and desaturated(bleached?) image? They even added vignetting heh. Hello WoP.

Shots are also carefully positioned to not show building pop ups hehe.

Pre-rendered using the game's built-in movie mode I suppose.

Yeah that stuff doesn't look to be modified at all, so that is in fact the game. Just gotta wait for some performance tweaks.

They use NASA computers.

Medium settings. You get that dark blue sky on medium!

Avala 03-31-2011 06:49 PM

Maybe if they made game engine, and not 3D modeling and rendering engine like in 3D Max, Maya, Lightwave . . .

Some of them obviously forget that this is simulation (game), not rendering program.

As Luthier said, engine allows you to set the highest settings and to let it render a movie through the night for instance. But that not means that it is playable. It will be, in some 4-5 years, I would say . . .

In this stage like it is today, only useful thing to do with this, is to sell it to Hollywood.

Those planes coming in on the tanks looked really cool!
