Unconditional support team Oleg.

Hi I am a Spanish user and I want to give my wholehearted support to the development team. I do not write much here, but every Friday for several years see updated weekly. Now I fully understand the words of Oleg about staying in the developing world, I too am a computer professional and last minute changes are not good. I hope you solve the problem of filter epilectic the best possible way, for my part you have secured a sale.
If tomorrow I touch the Euromillion intend to be your editor, please leave Ubisoft! Bad publicity, bad information, bad treatment, ....

I have never felt such admiration for a game like yours. Thank you very much for your work, thank you very much to heart. Demonstrated that they are the best. Sorry for the English, is a translation of my words.

Always! Great post!

Exactly how I feel.

Registered just to add my support. In general, there is a lot of short-sightedness at the moment. It's been a long time in coming, but we need to take a step back and let it flow!

All the best, Oleg, Ilya and team. Thank you for the IL2 series! :)

jony_md 03-25-2011 01:14 AM

I do not fps game performance, as if I have to pedal to work better. 6 years waiting for this magical moment and can not be overridden by an editor. I remember when you ask the team for the pc used in one of his videos and we were we surprised to see that it was a simple C2D E8xxx but memory fails me. The filter is not an excuse, the filter is an imposition on last time a study was prepared to present the best product of its kind. Because of this problem the team has not had time to debug all the "bugs" and present the product as they wanted, this is inconcedible!

The study still need more time to solve the problem have wanted to keep his date of departure and have been very brave. They did not want to wait any longer to the users, I think that we can not report anything.

You have my respect.

Finally I would like to say that the means to analyze this simulator are informed of what happened to the analsis fair.
A greeting.

I'm not going to punish 1C, who released the one piece of software that's provided me, by leaps and bounds, the best value for my money in 25 years, for something beyond their control.

Maybe we can buy the Russian version and patch in the English as some form of protest, but either way I'm buying it even if I have to crank down some resolution and visuals until it gets fixed.

With a couple more weeks we'll have time to see how it shakes out.

manfromx 03-25-2011 03:58 AM

Not withdrawing my order either. After all the years of IL-2 support (I think I ended up with several copies plus all the addons a few times lol), I think I owe it to these guys for giving me an outlet for a lifelong passion. It's clear they care about what they create.

zapatista 03-25-2011 03:59 AM

by all indications from the early russian buyers, the game is currently completely unplayable with the anti epilepsy crap imposed over the top. we can support oleg and his crew to find a solution and be tolerant to the delays it is causing. but i feel that if you buy the game right now from ubi in its crippled state you are in fact supporting the madness of ubisoft instead, and are removing all incentives to have the problems resolved by management at ubi.

olegs team worked for years to bring us the best possible product with decent frame rates, and to then have the ubi crap imposed on it in the last few months which cuts the frame rates to 10% is simply not acceptable. dont have any illusions, ubi predictably will not back down on this choice even if it makes the sales flop because one lawsuit in the usa could in one swoop remove any gains they make from it, and potentially even kill the company. we need to find another solution to get a working game then depend on ubi to do the right ting or stand up to manage its legal risks better (they have a track record of backing down and leaving games buggy and unfinished, and they dont listen to customer needs or protests)

the best current solution for us would be if oleg implements a russian version of the game that doesnt have the ubi "feature", and we can buy our copies directly from the russian distributor.

I hope what your saying about UBI is wrong but if true then I would prefer a Russian "oleg" version - pay the money to the source, cut out the inept middle man!

AW.

kimosabi 03-25-2011 05:04 AM

A disclaimer on the box/splash screen/loading screen would be enough legal wise, regarding the epilepsy hazards.

Tree_UK 03-25-2011 06:36 AM

I think you mean Luthier, Oleg hasn't worked on this project for over a year and a half.

JG52Uther 03-25-2011 06:44 AM

I would much rather give my money to 1c to have a game without this stupid epilepsy filter.
I am really torn right now,I have been waiting so long for this sim,and a week from purchase,I am now having very serious second thoughts. :(

Wrong, it was only about 4 months ago Oleg talked working on the sim at home to help improve the terrain color pallette.

He has obviously done some work in the last six months, as we have seen recent interviews at games shows and posts on the forums(should be on double time for that), but it does appear he is starting to take a back seat, I think Luthier will do a good job he has always seemed helpful on the forums.

T}{OR 03-25-2011 07:23 AM

From an engineers perspective I admire the work put into this title. For that they have my unconditional support.

But I cannot understand the reasons behind this so called "epilepsy filter". Like Tree says, something smells here. Not having this as an optional feature is down right hard to believe/understand.

I strongly advise you to delay the release for the rest of the World, until this thing (preferably) gets removed or made unobstructing/compatible with FPS and hardware.

This is already spreading like a forest fire and it will undoubtedly hurt the sales on a larger scale.

Geronimo989 03-25-2011 07:52 AM

You guys, together with Bohemia Interactive, are by far my favorite game dev teams. Thank you for not making simplified mainstream crap like most teams do!

and as usual tree is posting deliberately more misleading negative crap

obviously oleg is still the director and senior manager of the whole project, as he always has been , and nothing has changed in that regard. what has changed is that he is delegating more and more of it, and for this initial SoW installment luthier is the hands on day to day manager

oleg diverging into other area's is not a negative thing since he is still involved with SoW, did anybody really expect him to sit in a little office cubicle 5 days per week for the rest of his life ?

+1 On the support!

Despite being slapped in the face with the epilepsy crap I can't tell the level of appereciation I have for a small dev team like theirs that have a vision and sticks to it!

Salute!

bugmenot 03-25-2011 08:49 AM

Hum, even though I can't help but thanks Oleg and his team for making IL-2 which is my favorite game ever, what I've seen, heard and read about CoD so far is really disappointing, to say the least.

So, I'll keep my money until the game becomes really playable and reaches its potential... if that happens of course.

Oleg and Co. have my unconditional support! I will buy the product, I'm just waiting for the initial dust to settle before I charge. I just like to see the target clearly first.. and not get an epileptic fit in the process ;)

Kianoni 03-25-2011 02:58 PM

I just cancelled my preorder, can I send the money directly to 1C instead (no need for a game that is destroyed by the publisher)?
