I'll try to answer you question tomorrow. Do not know yet.

Drum_tastic 03-24-2011 07:13 PM

This is looking sooooo good. I am gonna find it hard waiting a week.

I will have to make do with the vids, more please Nike-it!

TacKY 03-24-2011 07:18 PM

Towards the end, I think Ilya is hinting at a ground based game used with the engine but this may just be nothing.

Royraiden 03-24-2011 07:31 PM

Amazing!I still trust Oleg and the whole team faithfully and watching this video reassures me on that.Cant wait for the next video.

=GI=Joel 03-24-2011 07:38 PM

Where is Tree when you see large cities with tons of buildings NOT popping up?

It looks brilliant. And I can imagine, that it will feel brilliant.

Awesome!

(To be honest, as in the first video, I enjoy watching the bombers most. The bouncing and tumbling bombs look just 200% real!)

svanen 03-24-2011 07:49 PM

I have tears in my eyes, amazing...

Thanks Oleg, Ilya and the team. :)

Heliocon 03-24-2011 07:52 PM

Awesome! But I would say unfortunetly its a bit late in the process to start a dev diary sequence...

Il2Pongo 03-24-2011 08:00 PM

Well done!

That was great, Ill watch it on the 58 inch when I get home.

PeterPanPan 03-24-2011 08:23 PM

Fantastic 1st video ... and just look at those frame rates too! Massive congrats to all at 1c/Maddox Games. You got there in the end and it looks like you have yet again made something that is without equal. Roll on the 31st!!

PPanPan

Sutts 03-24-2011 08:41 PM

Now that's more like it.

Thanks guys, looks truly amazing. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

Baron 03-24-2011 09:05 PM

The terrain and city's actually looks better than i thought it would.

It looks fantastic.

major_setback 03-24-2011 09:38 PM

This has to be the best presentation of the game yet; Well directed and edited, and professionally done. Showing the game in it's best light.

Chivas 03-24-2011 09:41 PM

Our genre certainly has a bright future. Excellent video Maddox Games. The terrain looks even better than I expected and it can only get better with DX11, and moving Weather patterns.

CharveL 03-24-2011 09:53 PM

A grain of salt with those frame rates over cities since I'd bet dimes to donuts the background video was mostly exported through their track recorder movie maker.

Still, I'm guessing (hoping) around 40 - 50fps on my system over cities (quad 3.8ghz / GTX460).

Stiboo 03-24-2011 09:55 PM

I agree....if only they put this out '2 weeks' ago it would have stopped lots of negative posts...

The landscape and towns wizzing by is top notch.

very upbeat video thankyou

.

svanen 03-24-2011 10:17 PM

Well, this was for sure made before this epilepsy filter was implemented, tomorrow negative posts will flood the forum...

Yeah, non-real time renders, that's my guess too. The video does look gorgeous.

So far looking at reports from sukhoi.ru - Program crashes, stuttering everywhere, low FPS, interface bugs (mispellings in Russian!) - they've been dealt with a beta/alpha game. This is more than just a epileptic filter.

I know people hate Ubisoft here, but if this game had been released right now here in US, it would've been made a laughing stock and written off entirely.

He111 03-25-2011 04:19 AM

Fantastic, this looks like a $150+ game!

I'll try to promote it.

Looks like i'll be buying a 590 or 580s in SLI :)

He111.

Reports from sukhoi.ru is reporting that SLI doesn't help at ALL. Hopefully that will be rectified soon.

Codex 03-25-2011 05:47 AM

I'm going to be critical here, sorry Oleg :)

Did anyone notice that the AI was shooting and flying like the AI in IL-2? It's "robotic" in it's aiming and flying? There's no wobble, no error aiming, no reality in the movements. Surly some % of error or randomness to the AI input variables could have been added.

I don't have CoD yet so I'm hoping it is different, for me the AI is one of the big issues.

Could it be because even a AI novice in the game is expected to have had simulated training? They might need a new level of AI - 'MUG GAMER' that displays all the bad habits that us simmers have picked up over the years! ;)

Cheers!

zapatista 03-25-2011 07:46 AM

excellent video, thx for giving us a good game intro taste. the sim looks excellent, and exactly as many of us here had hoped !

so was the video smooth with high fpsec because this system didnt have the ubi epileptic crap implemented ?

in this promo vid the game looks very good, but from what the russian early players are saying they cant run it like that on their pc's

csThor 03-25-2011 07:54 AM

Interesting background music, though. "Bomben auf Engeland" ... Tststs. ;)

pathetic.

JG52Uther 03-25-2011 10:39 AM

Don't like it,don't read it.

leggit 03-26-2011 05:20 AM

how about we go one better...and u stop posting moronic dribble?...that sounds like a much better idea.

Kikuchiyo 03-26-2011 06:15 AM

Not so sure leggit is in the wrong here. From what I can discern most of the people having issues are people with the higher end systems, and I for one am not entirely convinced that they aren't enabling features that the devs have been on the record as saying aren't ready at release. We know some of them at least enabled dynamic weather, and when that feature was turned off improved their performance. We also know right now that SLI/CxFire is borked, and that those people using it initially turned it off and saw a performance improvement. I am not 100% convinced that that it is totally the devs short comings here. I think there may be an issue with big rig users over estimating their systems capabilities and underestimating the engines demands.

Mauloch 03-26-2011 04:24 PM

It's tempting to save a few of these posts for later and just before the first expansion rolls out slam a few on the screen when the time's right, saying something like... remember this post from _____ and this one from _____? Here, have a look at this one, now is this one classic or what!?!

heheehe ;^)

Buzpilot 03-26-2011 07:12 PM

I have cancelled my order until this is sorted out, when i hear it's playable, i'll buy it, but I have no faith in Ubi filter...

Funny,I pre ordered it today on the strength of some of the videos coming out of Russia!

II/JG54_Zent 03-26-2011 08:52 PM

i cancelled my collectors edition preorder.
Not only do we have this damned filter which causes all kinds of problems. But also it seems that the game itself is not yet working properly.
I read a statement that the filter takes away about 10 fps... but in another post it was mentioned that if you put up more then 10 planes the fps in cockpit go down to about 1 fps !!! and that on a decent machine with modern quadcore and gtx 470....

it tells me this game still needs a lot of work and probably its a good idea to wait till the first two patches have come out and the filter problem is solved. Its for sure not only the filter, but more fundamental gameengine problems too. It reminds me of the time Il2 came out and noone could fly over Berlin...

By the way the conf.ini setting of the epi filter seems not to work yet... its a placebo as far my reading of forum test results went... hope they will implement that...think they should really get rid of UBIsoft ..they have always been terrible bastards and they get worse it seems....

I am simply not in the mood to fiddle with another halfcompleted game to make it barely run on my rig. And i have Crossfire and take it as a personal insult of Luthier and Ubi to devaluate my costly equipment.
What is most annoying though is that Luthier in his post wrote that they are trying to implement the reduction of epi causing graphics genuinely in the engine so that they have better frames and dont need the post filter anymore. But what does that mean ? It means they want to castrate the graphics even more profoundly... WW2 combat flight sim after all is about spinning props and flashes of lightning everywhere, isnt it ? And of course this exactlty can make epis have a fit...so if you want to cut this out you do cripple the game.... very stupid...very very stupid.

Hi all!
This is my first time flying Cliffs of Dover but I already have a lot of experience flying in IL2. My PC is kind of weak but I can still see the incredible potential in the modeling and the game world. Good luck to everyone! Have fun exploring this huge new universe!
My stunts: att. *.trk :)
