|
yes

No plans for a UK launch party? Would of been good to have held a launch party at a Battle of Britain airfield.
Never fear though, the Tangmere Pilots will be holding our own little party complete with a Spitfire Simulator down in Tangmere. ;) |
Just for curious ones: the launch party for Russian journalist with real flights on sport planes.

You guys should seriously consider getting a spot at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh. it is a 7 day event...
From the EAA website... http://www.airventure.org/ "Held annually during the last week of July at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wis., EAA AirVenture Oshkosh serves as one of the world's premier aviation events – attracting top government officials, corporate leaders and hundreds of thousands of aviation enthusiasts from around the world. It spans the entire spectrum of aviation and attracts 10,000 airplanes each year. The more than 500,000 aviation enthusiasts who attend the event annually supply the local and state economies with more than a $110-million boost during the event. An AirVenture participant can study the latest aircraft and innovations, discover new ideas and techniques from the nearly 1,000 forums and workshops, see aviation's top personalities, or just talk airplanes with people from around the world. EAA AirVenture has become important and influential but retains its friendly and personal feel — part of the reason the world comes to Oshkosh every year." I've been going every year... and its a 19 hour drive for me from Montreal, Canada. Many warbirds on display and in the numarous airshows... CH Products were there last year and they were running IL2 to show of their hardware but they were not advertising Il2 (I've seen it and asked the rep so it is why I know)... maybe a joint venture their for 1C... |

Sorry guys, I didn't realise before posting someone might want to come. Unfortunately it's just a private meetup for Tangmere Pilots. I just wanted to show the developers that there are players excited by the prospect of getting the game.
Our day will start in Biggin Hill, we'll then go to RAF Uxbridge for the tour of the control room and dinner at the Battle of Britain club there. On Saturday, we start the meetup proper in Tangmere, few drinks at the Bader Arms pub then it's BBQ time. Why don't you try and organise something with your squads? If you're not in a squad then you should really consider joining 1. |
This game is not big in the US/UK. EVERY person i know who loves Flight simulator, has absalutely no clue what il-2 is. Now everyone just assumes its birds of prey.

Just set up half a dozen CH/Seitek/Thrustmaster Hotas and rudder pedals setup with Track Ir (with a proper combat seat) in a LAN and whatch the sales add up... Make sure you have enough copies of the game on site for poeple to take home... Usally the Spits/Hurricaine display is also close to the main square near which all the sellers set up their shop... Could be great for inpulse purchase... Well just my 2c, |
I would like to see Oleg & team at the Flying Legends airshow. Held at Duxford the are lots of Battle of Britain connections with this place. Tens of thousands go every year and I am sure that thousands of copies can be sold. It would be the best place to showcase it :)

Like I said earlier, organise something with your squads and if your squads aren't doing anything...ask why the hell not, these games aren't released every day you know? If you're not in a squad...join 1, if you join a good squad you won't regret it. I've been with Tangmere Pilots for 8 years now and wouldn't change it for the World. |
