System Specs to be announced shortly
Or in a week or two , whatever shortly means.
I clicked on the Facebook icon on the Cliffs of Dover website, and there is a comment by Luthier {Ilya Shevchenko} that indicates they will be releasing the system specs shortly. http://www.facebook.com/il2sturmovik...49236541796325 "Ilya Shevchenko We'll be releasing system specs very shortly!" |
I can't find this quote.
Do I have to be registered to see it? |
It's right there on the page for all to see.
|
Thanks for this Chivas.

That would be a friggin' awesome troll attempt from a fake account.
Not that I think it is fake, but I'm chuckling just by the idea of it. Good news for any worried souls out there. My old beater will have to suffice for a while longer. |

Well that is the thing with CoD,you have to trawl the net and at least four different sites to get info!
Sometimes, you can even put all the bits together and get an answer... |

If Luthier had of posted in the IC forums that the system specs would be out shortly, we would have taken it as a promise and would expect the system specs in the next few seconds. And if it didn't all hell would break loose.

I couldn't wait anymore so I went for the top and upgraded my hotas while I'm at it. No need to second guess anymore and my rig will be ready, time-tested and configured before CoD comes out. Some of the components take 3-6 weeks to arrive however.. Asus P8P67 Deluxe Intel P67 LGA1155 MSI N580GTX-M2D15D5/OC NVIDIA Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4 GHz LGA1155 OCZ RevoDrive PCI Express SSD 120GB SSD Corsair 8GB (4x2GB) 1600MHz DDR3 CL9 Antec P193 ATX Noctua NH-D14 Corsair AX850W Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog I wonder how my saitek pedals will fit with the hog.. |

The Saitek Pro Rudder pedals will work just fine with the Hog, although I didn't like the warthog enough to keep it.
|
Which specs do you think he was refering to? Minimum or Recomended or both?

Once Bulldozer comes out, Sandy bridge prices will drop like a stone. http://www.techpowerup.com/img/11-01-24/177a.jpg Its been along time since high end PCs haven't been a rip off through lack of competition. I'll be saving my pingers till then. |

All this is speculation - at best. Once Bulldozer really comes out we will see. Already the latest i7's and i5's are over 30% faster clock per clock than their predecessors. Bulldozer has the time until IveyBridge comes out. If that graph above is true at all. And if we're to judge on nVidia's dominance on the GPU market today I don't hold my hopes high. It is like they switched roles from last year. Now AMD runs super hot and is lagging behind. In any case, if AMD really manages to pull this one off, mind you this is their first new architecture from 2003, no on would be more happier than me. :) |

As far as i know 2600K might have "less" gaming power than the 2500K due to the multi threading, or lack thereoff in game. It literally slows the 2600K down below 2500K in certain applications (for ex. games that does not use multi threading) Not a bid deal as such, just thought i mention it. ;) |

I don't like CoD either.. will keep calling it BOB from here on ;-) |

Sandy's are pretty affordable compared to the previous pricing. For example the 2500k is about 200$ which is a steal if you ask me. Haven't seen any schedules for bulldozer except 2011 and I ain't waiting any more. There is always the next big thing just around the corner, isn't it? |

Maybe it can be true for older titles, don't know.. |
multi threading can be switched off.

You can disable cores of your CPU in the BIOS, but AFAIK if your have a program that is written as a multi threaded program then you are still going to be running multiple threads even if it is on the one core. cheers! |

Ok thanks, so does cliffs of dover still support DX11?
|
Not initially at release - they had issues that they were unable to resolve in time.
But it will be a priority for the (near) future. |

S!
580 = the real 480 so sure does :) 580 is not from another planet ;) |
What does support actually mean, it's rather vague, I think it's more likely that those were tested with the game, sure a 580 will run great with CoD, I dare to bet on that.

It's gone?
