Apache, do you want it?

I Thought it would be good to get an idea on how many people from this forum will be getting Apache air assault when it comes out.

Are you really looking forward to it or are you more interested in the new call of duty title release?

SEE 10-23-2010 06:20 PM

Never had a real interest in flying 'Choppers' even when included in PC Flight Sims so cast a 'will wait and see' vote just in case the feedback is positive and more importantly, it don't need 'patching'!..........

Whats the chances that the Russian Gunships out class all the others in thegame....(only Kidding!) .

Games like COD and MW are never going to be on my shopping list - bore me rigid!

FOZ_1983 10-23-2010 06:21 PM

Have it on pre order, i trust gaijen to do a good job and i must say thus far it looks good!! Im just glad the pricks at 505 are not the publishers. Maybe now gaijen will get some credit now that theyve gone with a respectable publisher rather than the complete twats at 505 ;)

SEE 10-23-2010 06:26 PM

I wouldn't hold your breath FOZ, there were no publishers for Wing of Prey and it was abandoned by Gaijin. Nah, I will definitely wait and see.....

I thought it was published by activision :D Pretty sure it is..... and they are pretty damn respectable.

Yup just double checked... Apache Air Assault is indeed published by activision :D which in my eyes in much much better than the knob jockeys at 505!!

winny 10-23-2010 06:47 PM

I'm a tight wad so I will read the reviews.. then go and get it. Regardless of what they say! It would basically have to be broken for me not to get it. I like BoP and it's the same guys so I'm expecting it to be at least - ok.

505's handling of BoP was rubbish and I'll chalk that up to experience, if that happens again I won't buy another Gaijin product, but Activision are big enough to make this work.

Well they certainly have the spare cash to buy a couple of hundred updates lol. I also think the fact that Apache Air Assault is an Activision owned series means they will want it to be as good as possible and will want to pay for any patches that are needed and DLC to maintain interest. 505 don't own any series, they only buy from the developers and publish individual games.

I've got the game on Pre-order and i'm going to start reading Ed Macy's Apache book when Ive finished my current one.

I might even do a review of the game for the forum if I have time.

I have the WoP retail disc right here, someone published it.

Apache is published by Activision Minneapolis, who handle budget titles.

I'm still on the fence with this one and will probably wait and see what you guys think about it before I shell out my cash. Anything involving the Apache hits me very close to home. My best friend was killed while flying an AH-64 near Mosul, Iraq, and Seeing Apaches crash in full HD graphics is rather painful to say the least. But on the other hand, if the game really is good, it might be fun to fly a helo again with my ol' buddy as co-pilot. I'll wait and see.

Attached is a photo of my buddy Pat showing his little girl around the office.

Korsakov829 10-23-2010 09:53 PM

Absolutely not. If it was titled Ka-50 Blackshark or Mi-24 Hind, then yes.

Even though there's already a Blackshark game on PC, Gaijin are deducted 10 patriot points for not making the Blackshark and Hind playable from the beginning.

Hind DLC demanded.

I'm expecting the game to have all the custom control setup functions of the PS3 BoP patch but hopefully without the bugs. So there should be no problem using your stick.

I may have to get mine out of the closet.

Which system are you getting it for? Since you haven't bought a ps3 yet.

One thing I hope they have implemented is headtracking with the pseye. I know Anton was talking about maybe trying to work on that feature for the sequel to BOP but since we don't really know anything about this game we will have to wait until they open up the thread on Yuplay.

bobbysocks 10-24-2010 11:59 PM

getting it for xbox. i have to "fund" my ps3 project with ebay sales...lol. so its going to be awhile. i hope you can use a joystick with it... eye tracking would be AWESOME! hopefully the BoP sequel will have that option. i saw a video of them using it on PC. had a sensor on the monitor that tracked one on the brim of a hat. it didnt have full range tho..only like 15 degrees but that would be a start.

pope....check your pm

xX-SiLeNcE-Xx 10-31-2010 11:26 PM

Hi guys! long time no talk. Definitely getting it for ps3. :) I think I still have a lot of you guys added.

Korsakov829 10-31-2010 11:55 PM

Maybe I will get it if I can get a Russian Apache.

bobbysocks 10-31-2010 11:57 PM

might be able to skin it the way you want...skins and decals are available with an unlock.

Akula 11-01-2010 01:32 AM

I don't want it, currently, but maybe i'll get it down the road.

Korsakov829 11-01-2010 02:01 AM

The fact that it isn't being published by a Russian company bothers me. I might just buy it to see how many "friendlies" I can shoot up.

 Your not? I too had figured you were a New Zealander. May I ask why you have that avatar then?.
The RNZAF being one of the most underfunded airforces in the world and now have no fighter planes at all and all their fighter pilots have gone to australia.

bobbysocks 11-01-2010 04:41 PM

buggins, keep an eye out for chewiesttanga. hes a NZer and a pretty good joe. fly with him on occasion late at night... midnightish to 2am est ( us gmt -5). he's pretty new to the game but learning fast.

Isn't there some other forum where you can express your narrow minded views?

I just like how the avatar looks, that's all.

BRIGGBOY 11-02-2010 12:29 PM

like i said before i propably will buy the game but i just want to see how some of the bop pilots rate it first.

Without playing it im already rating it highly, simply for the co op side of things. Then again... one pilot to each heli, no MP game modes...

It should be good, i have faith in gaijen.

maybe pope, you, and i can join in coop...depending on how "local" they define things. having never experienced coop i will find this interesting.

Robotic Pope 11-03-2010 09:56 PM

Just wondering if there is anybody who has played the demo and now changed their mind?

The demo is very good afterall. And should do a good job of convincing people to buy. I'd be very suprised if someone has been put off buying, after playing the demo.

tbtstt 11-04-2010 09:04 AM

I was all set to buy Black Ops next week but, having come across the demo last night and given it a quick spin, I think next weeks gaming purchase is going to be Apache!

I've been waiting for a decent helicopter game for years now, so I can't believe that the IL-2 team have produced one. Anyone out there who is unsure, get to your console, download the demo and give it a try!

Its the single player thats "local" co op, so the MP you can play with anyone from anywhere in the world providing they have an internet connection...

It will make for some good co op games if Gaijen have done it properly :) i for one cant wait.

trk29 11-04-2010 11:17 AM

The hard part is going to be who to choose you want to fly with, since it is only 4 player co-op.

Speak for yourself - if even one of my mates buys this I'll be surprised!

trk29 11-04-2010 11:37 AM

I'm talking about the great people of this forum. I'm sure a few people from here are going to get the game. I'm not talking about the general public.

Seems theirs more PS3 players here who will be getting it than us 360 players. Ans then you have to take countries into account and time zones...

We (360) should manage :P

Your guys..... screwed. haha.

I joke. We'll all find ways to get a few games in with each other at some point.

bobswar 11-05-2010 05:17 AM

I would get it, but its not getting released in New Zealand, I'l have to settle with the demo.
I only hope that bop 2 is going to be released down here

Hi mate, I'm from NZ too, I've bought it from this guy:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=320586597540

I've bought games off him in the past, he can be trusted 100%. Free shipping, and the price works out to be 50 bucks cheaper than in the stores here. All his games are PAL format and are guaranteed to work on NZ/Aus consoles.

Do it! I don't wanna be the only one in the country playing Apache..

Korsakov829 11-05-2010 02:52 PM

The game looks very good. But, blasting terrorists over and over again will be boring after some time. Not for me.
