Can't wait any longer, so I thought I'd register my impatience by starting a countdown thread. :grin:

It is now 6 days until the release of King's Bounty: Crossworlds. Hopefully it will be downloadable on Gamersgate at 00:00 GMT on the 17th, which is 8am Friday in this part of the world. I leave the house for work at 8.15, so hopefully I can start the download and have it done in time for when I get home from work for the weekend.

And I've got two weeks of holidays from the 24th. :cool:

I felt like you Zhuangzi, couldn't wait for KB: Crosswolds to come along, that is until I found out that the remastered 100% localized in Spanish version of Disciples 3 is coming on 23rd of this month, so now I want to get that MORE than I want the latest 'KB:AP-rehashed with some extras thrown in version with a new name' Crosswolds!:)

According to reviews Disciples 3 sucks hard... so i wouldnt really expect that much...

I bought it on the release day. I haven't played it very long so far, but "sucks hard" seems a bit strong. It does have issues and bugs, though, and there are precious few maps included. It's pretty much a Discipline game, and the artwork is well done and captures the atmosphere of the series well. It just needs some balancing, fixing and more maps. The two KB games are certainly the better pick, but Disciples 3 is playable.

The 24th, eh? That's when Civ5 comes out (in Europe, three days earlier in the US and Canada), and I hope by then I'll have my KB addiction under control! :) We TBS fans were treated nicely this year.

Too nicely in fact, for several months (after I've logged 100+ hours in Mount&Blade Warband) I had nothing interesting to play, and now Crossworlds and Civ5 are out almost simultaneously. The fact that day has only 24 hours is a serious bug...

Despite some Steam players briefly having access to the game already, there are still 5 days until the official release of KB: Crossworlds.

I had high hopes for Disciples III myself, but having played the demo for a few hours I wasn't encouraged to buy the game. I'm hoping that patches and/or mods will fix some of the problems, just in time for me to get a bargain basement price on a copy here in Perth. Ironically, I've never seen a copy of any King's Bounty campaign at retail here, and yet Disciples III is everywhere.

Meanwhile, I am playing a lot of Starcraft II online. I don't like RTS games as much as TBS games, but Blizzard has done an exceptional job with the automatchup play in my humble opinion. Not enough hours in the day? I'm going to have to juggle playing Starcraft II multiplayer, Crossworlds single player, and then of course the mundane things like going to work, eating etc. :eek:

Now there's 4 days to go and the working week begins....

I think the Steam download was about 2-3GB. I think. Can't remember off hand :p

I downloaded 5gb for the game instal.

I purchased KB-AP and CW at the same time with 25€ and i clicked King's Bounty Crossworlds to download so it downloads AP and CW at the same time the download size was about 8,5-9gb if i remember correct.

Wow. If that is the installed version, it makes sense - KBAP is about 5.5GB installed, so crossworlds as an addon looks like 3-3.5GB. KBAP installation was about 2 GB, if crossworlds' install is 7 GB, that would be wicked amounts of content.

And then there's the 12gb download for the editor as well.

So are you saying the editor is 12gb (wtf)? or editor is around 3gb? Either way it's ridiculously big.

I thought I read in another thread that the editor was a 12gb download if you wanted to do textures. Could have misunderstood.

Hopefully! I'm kinda bummed the gift bag is not compatible, though. Or is its content integrated into Crossworlds perhaps? /wishful thinking

Will this game be available on Direct2Drive? My Armored Princess copy is through them.

Could someone explain what do you have to do to get the editor textures working then? someone who actually knows the facts. :-P

You need to install additional ~10Gb of unpacked textures into game 'data' folder. If you have Steam version, install the optional 'Editor' package containing them.

Any update on this? The game is supposed to be release tomorrow, there is nothing at all about it on the Direct2Drive site.

I am surprised too to not find this game yet on Direct2Drive.com

Today is the day. From memory, last time I could download AP at midnight GMT on the 17th, which would be in 45 minutes. Hopefully it be downloadable then, as I have to go to work in an hour.

Well it is 1235AM on the 17th and not even the preload is availbale on Gamersgate, let alone the download for Crossworlds. Guess I will have to try when I get up.

Well, i just logged onto the STeam store and there was a message that the game will unlock in 11 hours which completely blows!

I pre-ordered through GG and there is nothing posted there...

That's what I feared. Steam says 10 hours left, so it means 18:00 CET i.e. 16:00 GMT. :x

Still nothing on GamersGate (and I got up early especially heh) :evil:

Problem. The download button is now there, but when I try to open the installer file, it starts the process and then says:

An error has occurred while downloading. The download is now paused. You may unpause the download to try again. Error message: server did not accept the request. (Server replied with HTTP status 404, expected 200)

Same deal if I try to resume. Help. :mad:

The game will be there today, don't worry. Just a tad later than expected.

Okay, it seems to be working now. No idea what the problem was before. ETA: 2 hours. :cool:

Downloaded and installed within an hour from GG.
Playing the orc campaign.

5 more hours on steam, of course that means I'll be working, so really, 13 more hours. Oh well, something to do tonight.

I had a quick try at Defender of the Crown on Impossible, and I am pleased to say that I was defeated in the 2nd fight. Looks like this will provide some challenge due to the random element.

:eek: i didnt have any problems with def on hard difficulty... or was it because i used cheats to get money? :rolleyes:

also its not completely random. In the first island you only encounter lizards and for example shops cannot have any demons, undead or lizards.

I have huge problems on champion of the arena when i get to the drilller, gremlio and the last archdevil though even when i use crystal and money cheats.

rancor, cheats? C'mon, play the game properly. I'm glad I lost that first game on Impossible - I would have been really disappointed if I could just breeze straight through it. But I'll get there. :)

I just like to play this game with infinite money it's more relaxing i've played to somewhere like level 25 on orcs on the march without cheats but i just can't find it that enjoyable when you cant for example get your whole leadership in use because you're out of money. Well we all have our own styles of playing and i like to play this game with money and crystal cheats. I never use any other cheats though (unless i want to test something). ;)

Wow, that's never happened to me, on any difficulty. I guess you buy lots of different creatures and discard them once new ones come along?

No, but i like to buy items too and if i buy only creatures then i cant buy items much and vice versa.

I guess it's okay to use cheats when you're just learning the game, but ultimately the challenge is in beating the game within its limitations. For instance, I am finding Defender of the Crown to be a reasonable challenge on Hard at the moment. Do I buy the more expensive units or the expensive items? Can't have both. :)
