The Legend or Amored Princess
Hi,
I'm new here and I wanna buy King's Bounty and I don't know if I should buy "The Legend" or "Amored Princess". I don't know if its better to buy The Legend because of the story, or if I can play Amored Princess, without knowing the story from The Legend. Thanks! Devafrau |
I would suggest Armored Princess.
Armored Princess is a much better game. It is indeed stand alone also. The Legend is more linear and less balanced. |
the biggest question should be
you want to play as man(legend) or as female(armored princess) ^^ play with a rage box(legend) or with a pet dragon (ap) legend got less units(no droids, advanced level 4 units) but all in all both games are great why not buy a gold edition or collectors edition( i think some arised) |
I agree with razorflame, buy the gold edition so you can have both games. I personally think you should play The Legend first though. It introduces you to game and is more epic. There really isn't much of a storyline in Armored Princess as opposed to The legend. Go with the legend before you play Armored princess

Hi,
thanks for the quick responses. The problem is, that I am from germany and I'm pretty sure that there is no gold edition out right here. And yeah, I don't know what to buy... axelle said I should buy Amored Princess and clinek said I should buy The Legend first. So, is, if you look and both games seperately, The Legend or Amored Princess better? |

If you are german: TL was part of the last month PC games DVD. Perhaps you got somewhere one. Try to got this and by AP.;) |
I disagree with these comments. I find KB-L to be the better game and less linear of the two. The maps are much nicer and I generally prefer the spells/rage chest. It is also a more difficult game. Armored princess does have a nice medal system as well as some interesting spells. I'd sort of like to see a merger of the two in some fashion (mixed about dragon vs rage chest; though that large blue ball does allow for an interesting tactic not found in Armored Princess). Anyways AP is all about boring maps with island hopping and KB-L is a bit more story oriented with a more interesting map (though the map is relatively small compared to some RPGs it is much larger and more complex than KB-AP).

The problem with AP is you really only appreciate it's improvements after you've played TL. I think playing them in reverse order would spoil things.
Also, KB:Gold (as well as the standalone games) is available on Steam, if anyone likes digital distribution. I grabbed mine during their summer sale :) |

just google it somewhere i'm 100% sure it's avaible a gold edition but then again after your reply i assume u want a gold version in german which i don't think has arised yet;) |
Hi,
just to tell you how I decided now: I order the PC-Games included King's Bounty The Legend. That's really cheap and I am happy about that :D Thanks a lot for your help, you helped a lot! Greets, Devafrau |
good choice. TL is more fun altogether. I like how you are not able to kite your way around nearly as much. This forces you to play the game like it is supposed to be played. Have fun
|
tl also got alot smaller area's ;-)
^^ makes chain fighting alot more easy xD |
Honestly, the only thing AP is better than TL is just cuz the flying horse and a "little" improve of graphics. I really prefer the rage chest instead of the lame dragon pet (and the way u need to "activate" each rage pet), and i loved the thing of finding a wife and the possibility of gain different bonus when shes is on/off lol. And the maps, bigger than in AP. And much harder than AP. Armored princess is just boring once u played a lot of games.
If u never played this kind of games, start with the legend, and continue with ap. They are not too expensive games if u cant buy em together. |

I go with AP as well.
Mostly because I discovered in AP the power of Level 4-5 units namely dragons In the legend level 1 units where too powerful, sprites+dryads with Anga. Skellies with dragon arrow etc.... |
NO one realy told him that he should start with legend? AP is harder, for those who knows LEgend, if he start with AP and take mage at normal diffculty he will have big problems
|
Hum. Interesting comment. If you know what you are doing Ap is easier; but I think I agree that if you are clueless (first time player) then L is easier. After 6 or so games on impossible with AP I'm playing legend again (mage/impossible) and it is about as hard as I remember. However, I do notice more of the tweaks in AP now that I'm replaying L; though while I like/miss some of the tweaks I still prefer L overall :)
