Where can i find that zeppelin add-on? I don't have FSX but i fly it sometimes on a friend's PC when i visit him. If you could PM me with details about the zeppelin it would be cool. Thanks in advance :grin:

The only blimp I see here is the Goodyear one.It passed quite low over my house once.
Long time I don´t see it.

These things are not blimps as blimps have n internal structure whatsoever. However they are not strictly a rigid Zeppelin either.

They are more akin to the Italian semi-rigid airship like the Norge that flew to the North Pole in the 1920's. The true zeppelins like Hindenburg and Graf Zeppelin had quite a different construction to these "new" Zeppelins..

Could you post those images in a larger resolution? They don't screw up the forum's horizontal format enough.

last week the moderator made a post in one of the threads here that all future comments in the oleg "update threads" would be more strictly moderated to reduce OT posts, but that other forum threads would be more leniently tolerated as OT (and shortly after that this thread was started).

i'd say more OT threads (within reason) in general are fine now, unless it it the total gibberish and nonsense (including some very rude remarks he made to oleg $ Co) in the style of the xillion dude that sporadically appeared around here in the last few months

all this of course is just my personal interpretation :)

good looking screenshots from fs-x

there are some other scenery addons to fs-x which look even better then the one you just posted, and some of those ms new scenery's look very good indeed. sadly it only looks that good from high altitude, once you get closer to the ground textures are rather poor.

the low altitude scenery quality is where oleg's BoB should/will really shine, which is the important part for early aviation sims :)

More seriously, personally I agree with Zapatista regarding OT comments. I also think that an 'over-zealous' attitude by mods regarding what is OT is generally counter-productive to nurturing a vibrant forum. So, by that, I mean if a member is not rude, argumentative or abusive, and restricts their OT'ness to just 1 or 2 posts in the thread, then their OT comments should stay.

Now I'm REALLY OT!

no need to over react, he's just sharing some nice pictures

must be from the austria high detail addon, its one of the nicest and most detailed scenery's that exist for ms-fs-X :)

for vfr flying that level of detail is great, but for doing lower altitude flights it looks quickly very dated. same with flight models. for ex i seriously doubt that in real life i, as a barely trained pilot, could successfully fly a 767 inverted under the golden gate bridge and live to tell the tale (as i can do in ms-fs-x).

and for me those 2 are the most important aspect, low level detail (and immersion), and realistic flight models. so il2/BoB it is for me, there just is no substitute :)

The problem with large pictures....

Many users are not on fast bandwidth internet connections. Once page starts to render image they have to wait a long time for it to show.

Try to keep images maximum size of 1024x768 or less.

I have a very fast computer and cable internet connection. I don't care about big images, except I have to scroll to the side to see them and then scroll back to the left to read next postings. That is not very considerate of others.

Why hasn't this topic been deleted, yet one discussing the various ideas regarding the environment in SoW was? Just asking. At least next time I want to have a rant or go O/T I know that putting SoW, Oleg etc in the title will make it acceptable :cool:

IMO....
The Senior Members should organize a secretariat to discuss the implementation of regulatory measures on OTs. Articles and paragraphs of the resulting document should individually be approved by a referendum involving all Members of the forum. The rules adopted shall be attached and structured by a protocol committee of Moderators and sent to the final approval of Oleg.

Thus the situation of the OT posts at 1C forum, subdivision Il-2, would be regulated!

@zapatista: good guess, in fact just on the other side of the alps from Austria, Trentino-Alto Adige region of Italy. Very few good things about FSX, the main one is the hi-res photo scenery 3rd party addons. It takes way too much work to get it looking right, tho.
