Many people, like myself run il-2 on Intel Macs.

Use bootcamp, & install XP (or maybe windows 7 - haven't tried)

Then install il-2 on the XP partition & away you go :)

This is NOT an emulator, but runs windows natively on the computer, plenty fast.

I hope that their priority will be custom Windows Installation, and after if they want do it makes Mac , dont waste more time if its possible

Given the ease with which modern Macs can be made to run Windows, I'd think it highly unlikely that any PC Games publisher would consider the market for dedicated Mac games worth supporting.

Or am I wrong? Is there any dedicated Mac games software available that remotely compares with what is available for PCs?

There are some companies that release Mac versions. Blizzard for example with their upcoming Starcraft 2 real-time strategy game, but then again they are a huge company with a lot of available funds.

As far as I know there is no serious flight sim running on MacOs. Oleg would actually sell copies for MacOs very well in my opinion. But I have no idea what it takes to translate the code for mac.

julian265 06-21-2010 01:16 PM

X-plane is a serious sim for the Mac, Windows and Linux.

IL-2 and BoB are already restricted to a small market, hence to release it for the Mac would be to try to sell to a small proportion of another small market, I don't think it will happen unless the work involved is negligible.

HundertneunGustav 06-21-2010 05:23 PM

mac + paralels + XP + favourite game

+1000

and then Iphone 4 remote control to desktop when the game is loaded using the gyro functions to control the spit in SOWBoB
*dreaming*

Macs are a waste...limited software limited everything. 10% market share is not worth dev time to majority of companies. Not to mention macs can be less secure than PC's.

IMO people who buy macs are computer stupid. Its always better to build your own especially if you game.

HundertneunGustav 06-21-2010 07:32 PM

nah nah nah, let us not start bashing each other.

software wise there are solutions for everything - virtualisation is often the key.

and Google announced mid 2009 they were going the Linux+Mac OS way...
Today, all your Google related apps and searches are run on Linux/Unix servers, and they have anbandoned the Microsoft OS'es.

just sayin'... think about it and open yer mind ^^

Mac's are good at what they do:

Music
&
Graphic design

Well according to the traditional stereotype typical Mac users are "artistic, New Age, hippy, communist, whale loving, poetry writing, gender confused, university educated, animal liberationist, draft dodging, neo liberal, tree hugging, eco terrorists .. oh and also technophobic technology fanboys" :D

Maybe they just don't like blowing things up ?

GOZR 06-22-2010 06:17 AM

Macs are ok even if using older hardware.. but the company is the worst of all.. it is now worse than Microsoft, lying .. lies and lies.. incredible BS.. and actually very closed minded..

Macs OSX as a very flauded problem the Finder..

Want a great OS get Linux Mint 9 or Ubuntu..

;)

Ah ok -- didn't know that.

Still I don't agree entirely. I know a lot people sticking to Mac for professional reasons, but regretting the small choice of games, especially simulations.
I think SoW BoB would do well, but of course you are right the amount of work to convert it must stay reasonable.

Looks like the 4850 is the best GPU in the iMac, but it's only available in the 27" model, driving a 2560x1600 display. Other specs minimum, total $1850

The next step up is the Mac pro, with the 4870 (for only $200 more than the GT120?!) Other specs minimum, total $2700
