Just for fun, your age?

I was reading old posts and I saw this trk's thread. So I recreated it. Just for fun.
And i'm 29 now.

Oh sh*t. I tried to create a poll with my mobile phone but I didn't manage to do that. This thread slipped through my fingers and this is not what it supposed to be. Darn. So mod's can delete this if they like.

That's two of us. 18 just with 18 years experience!!!
And your only as young as you feel.....and she's only 28!!!

winny 05-28-2010 01:44 PM

36 or as I prefer to say twenty sixteen...

dkwookie 05-28-2010 02:34 PM

When you see 30th anniversaries for sequels you loved at the cinema you know you are getting old. Star wars hitting 30 was cool, Empire Strikes Back hitting 30 is depressing. I may just top myself when the ewoks hit the big three oh

winny 05-28-2010 02:42 PM

That reminds me.. on the Release of ROTJ I went to the odeon in town and watched Star Wars then Empire and then they put on ROTJ with 15 min intervals. It was Great.. But, it was 27 years ago!!!! Jeez.

I went to that too. Great times. I also went to the Odeon when Alien 3 was released and they showed all three back to back. If was full of sudents in combat outfits with toy guns. I miss that odeon

Yeah I know what you mean Joe. I took mine to see episode 3 and the new Indiana Jones film. Reminded me of my dad taking me to see the originals.
My happiest cinema memory is my dad taking me on spec to see a film I knew nothing about called Raiders Of The Lost Ark. He wanted to see it any my mum didn't so he dragged me with him. Best night at the cinema I ever had. I bought a projector recently and the first thing I did was watch Raiders on it

Davedog74 05-28-2010 06:53 PM

iv been 21 for 14 years, the first film my dad took me to was either ,temple of doom or flash gordon, cant remember which,my first vinyl record was ,marrs pump up the volume,my first decent trainers/sneakers, were puma top winner, aah i love thinking back.

the most fun at the movies...was when we took the kids to see ET at the drive in. when we were paying they gave us each a small paper cup full of Reese's Pieces. a week or so later i bought them the ET game for the Atari...haha...wow. how far games have come! the next game system i bought them was a Turbografx 16....

Balderz002 05-28-2010 08:42 PM

I'm 26.

The first single I bought was Pato Banton ft. UB40 - Baby Come Back. It was a tape, and I got it from Ourprice! 19-god damn-94! I think the first time I went to the cinema was to see Jurassic Park (from what I can remember). I also remember bits of the '94 world cup.

I caught the last 10 mins of it last week (Raiders) and I got a shiver down the spine when the music for the bit where they open the Ark started. We must have been at the optimum age for that film when it came out.. it burned it's self into my brain. Probably my fav childhood film. Temple of Doom blew me away on the big screen too.

First single I bought was Flash Gordon. I used to watch the old black and White buster crabb serials on BBC2 during school hols so actually knew who ming and flash and all were when I went to see that film. Another classic
Every time I see brian blessed I feel "gordons alive" welling in my throat

Went to see temple of doom at odeon deansgate. First film I recall seeing 70mm on poster. Went back and saw it twice more when it hit the local cinema in altrincham.
Watching Raiders recently I came to the conclusion the horse/truck chase is the best chase scene ever. I don't think it will be topped either cos these days it would be cgi'ed up. Love the tank vs horse in last crusade too

Davedog74 05-29-2010 01:36 PM

the raiders cleaned up dvd looks great, doesnt show its age too much.i doubt the truck chase would be allowed now, health and safety and all that, great scene i love the face the stuntman(driving the truck ) pulls when he gets a wack off indy and he cant stop it,the mine chase from doom was meant to be in raiders at the end ,it never done it for me that chase

dkwookie 05-29-2010 03:09 PM

You are right about health and saftey dave. The film that has the ultimate breach is The First Great Train Robbery. Sean Connery doing his own stunts on top of a train meant to be limited to 30mph. After filming he was furious saying train was not doing 30. Helicopter pilot flying camera landed and said he clocked it doing 55mph. It looks amazing on film though. Hairy for a stuntman let alone Connery at that age

I'm 38 but only in mortal-human years.

Since you're from Finland, I'll mention I was surfing randomly the other day and noticed the only kind of music in Finland is heavy metal, and it's divided into black metal, power and thrash metal, and lord of the rings metal.

it's quite true. At winter time here is cold and dark so feel little upset at that time. And you can see/ hear it from our music. But hey, at summer we have also nightles night, sun is up from May to September and at that time we do more sunny and happy songs like this britney cover from children of bodom.

He would be ok as Bond but not as good as Rodger.
Best inuendo ever is in Moonraker when Bond is rodgering the girl in the shuttle on the big screen and Q, with his back to the viewscreen says "I think he is attempting re-entry sir"
