fantasy airshow
hello everybody,if you could have your very own back garden/yard airshow with 10 different planes -what planes would you choose? display teams can count as 1 ..........
id like the thoughts of il2 pc sim players aswell |
I'd have the Soviet's finest mixture of fighters and bombers..
Yak-1, Yak-3, La-5, La-7, MiG-15, Il-2, Il-4, Il-6, Yak-15, Tu-16 |
P-51, P40, Spit ( any version ), a mossie, Me 109, Fw190, Me 262, WW1 ac...spad, sopwith camel, fokker d7. if i wanted to see any soviet stuff i would just go to SA's show,,,lol
|
a couple of good shows,il bring the beers
ok my fantasy show is... sopwith camel -fokker triplane(red)mock dogfight spitfire mk14 -fw190d mock dogfight mosquito ,corsair, vulcan, english electric lightning ,sr71 blackbird .....red arrows |
Quote:
http://www.oldrhinebeck.org/ and dave....bring spiced rum..never got the taste for beer. |
An-225, Concorde, Vulcan, Harrier, Constellation, B1, B29, Lancaster, Mosquito, Hurricane.
|
Does the BBMF count as just 1? (Battle of Britain Memorial flight, Lancaster, Spitfire, Hurricane)
I'd take i nthe following order - Hawker Hurricane Hawker Hurricane Hawker Hurricane Hawker Hurricane Hawker Hurricane Hawker Hurricane Hawker Hurricane Hawker Hurricane Hawker Hurricane Hawker Hurricane HAHA, in all seriousness though id take the following, To start the days flying and to get things underway - Red Arrows Avro Vulcan F14 Tomcat (always loved this plane) P51 Mustang B17 Flying Fortress Panavia Tornado De Havilland Mosquito FW190A HE111 Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. The final act of the display would be a victory roll by none other than the Hawker Hurricane :D |
well id have all the japanese planes that ever exisited in ww2 and get the red arrows to make a show using the latest technolegy it would be unbeliveable what they could do with an f22. id also have any pacifc based american ww2 aircraft
|
Quote:
i have been lucky enough to see 9 of my 10 over the years, except the 190d . rum!whoa there ,i wanna be able to see the show |
a big bottle of sailor jerry would do just fine
|
Hmm...i gotta say an CF-18 Hornet, a F-35 VTOL, Avro Lancaster/Spitfire/Hurricane/Me-109, P-51D, SNOWBIRDS!, F-22, Sopwith Camal.
That my friend is called variety...secondary would be B-52, AN-225, A-380, F-4/MIG 21, A-10A's (3 of em just for kicks), Avro Arrow (If possible :D) B-17, BLUE ANGES! |

Ok,
In no particular order.. (I'd have it going from noisy to ears bleeding.. so the Vulcan would probably be last!) 1. F-14 2. F-15 3. F-111 4. Phantom F-4 5. Eurofighter 6. Spitfire 7. Corsair 8. Lancaster 9. Vulcan 10. FW-190 |
Quote:
And yes, the AN-225 is the biggest heavier then air flying machine ever built. |
they bring an AN-225 into pittsburgh airport once a year. have no clue why but that is one FREAKING GIGUNDA ac. very impressive.
|
You guys are boring lol Now this is FANTASY!
1. TSR2 2. Martin Baker MB-5 3.4.5. Concorde, Tu-144 Charger(Concordski), Boeing 2707 SST. Formation flight with imposible low level supersonic flybys. 6. Me163 takeoff to landing/crash 7. Be-2500 Neptum. (AN-225? pfff thats tiny) 8. Tu-95 Bear. Witness the word LOUD! 9. Then forget it when you become a victim to the XF-84H Thunderscreech and the sound of continueous sonic booms from its props 10. If you are still conscoius, my show ender would be a Buran Shuttle launch. (Be-2500 was the piggyback ride for the Buran) |
Quote:
All three of em' anyway. |
P51D (bubble canopy), P38, P40, P47D(razorback), F6F Hellcat, F4U Corsair, Bf109G-2, FW190A-9, Spitfire (any model), A6M Zero
there are still alot of others i'd like to see |
In no particular order
1.Spitfire 2. Lancaster 3. Mosquito 4. Vulcan 5. Concorde 6. Apache 7. SR-71 8. Lightning 9. Red Arrows 10. Something from HyShot- the scramjet program! |

|
Quote:
1. The Dragon out of the Hobbit. 2. X-wing Fighter 3. Battlestar Galactica Colonial Viper memorial flight (Old version with dirk Benedict flying it) 4. Dropship out of Aliens 5. And yeah damn hard getting it to 10. I've tried to stay patriotic but sadly both the SR and apache are so out there I had to include them. Sadly though it leaves no space for the A10's, F15's, eurofighter, lynx, guppy, fw190, me109, vampire, hunter, valkyrie, e3 sentry or such wonders as the ekranoplan!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUTWW...=youtube_gdata |
[QUOTE=Gilly;156495]Make it a cold one!!

The only things I'd add are: the liberator from blakes7 and the Xbomber from the 80's kids show Starfleet! |
1, spitfire, 2 lancaster, 3 hawker tempest, 4 p51 d, 5 mossie, 6 bristol beaufighter, 7 blackbird, 8 tornado gr1, 9 eurofighter, 10 f 16 fighting falcon
|
1. Blue Angels in F/A-18E Superhornets fly a high show and remain aloft. Since MC-130 Fat Albert is part of the Blues show, C-130 JATO takeoff and acrobatic demo to start things off.
2. F4U Corsair acrobatic demo, F4U - F/A-18E heritage pass with Blue Angel lead solo. 3. F-86 Sabre acrobatic demo 4. P-51D acrobatic demo, 2x P-51D - 2x F-86 Missing man formation. 5. Hughes H-4 Hercules low level flyby, because that’s about all she could manage. 6. Ka-50 Hokum acrobatic demo and live weapons test. 7. Sopwith Camel acrobatic demo, perhaps a low-level pass with the Ka-50. 8. Sukoi PAK FA acrobatic demo, slow pass with Sopwith. 9. Bell-X1 subsonic demo with B-29 drop. 10. Horton Ho-229 V3 acrobatic demo. |

Spitfire & Camel |
of course blanks that sorts that, in fantasy airshow land dreams can come true so i think what mckinney is asking for is fine-a small detail.
theres no wrong answer to my question -its all good |
HMmmm depends....invite all the people you dont like and strafe them. what could be more delightful than screaming in 20 feet off the deck in your favorite warbird pressing the trigger and helping cleanse the gene pool. NOW that is a fantasy airshow....sorry a little sick humor.
|
Quote:
Didn't they use special effects out of another film in it? |
Quote:
The special FX were reused in Space Raiders a couple of years later. It was a Roger Corman film and he was famous for streching his resources. I believe James Cameron and Bill Paxton worked on this film set dressing and special FX and thats where they met. So Hudson fans owe this film some respect! |
whats the sci fi film where a bloke has to talk a speaking bomb out of going off ?
|
Quote:
Ok my scifi inner geek is showing now! |

A great film for its tiny $60,000 budget. |

lol some of the fantasy stuff faaaaaaaaar too much time on ones hands................. but some awesome selections :):)
the airshow stuff epic selections Dave 10 just aint enough, you start to think and a fair few more pop into you're head!!!! 1. Spitfire (any variant be awesome to hear a griffen engined one) 2. Bristol beaufighter 3. Hawker Typhon 4. Bf 109 E3 5. Mosquito 6. Harrier GR3?? 7. BAE Jaguar 8. AC 130 specter 9. Douglas Skyraider 10. F4F Phantom 2nd half :o 1. Mig 29 fulcrum (sp) 2. Vulcan, valiant and valiant fly past 3. Halifax, manchester, lancaster and wellington fly past 4. Lynx doing some aerobatics 5. Apache 6. Hind 8. B17, liberator, B25 and B29 flypast 9. P51 D 10. Red Arrows |
For a more modern air show, I'd include these.
Fighters MiG-15 MiG-15bis MiG-19 MiG-21 MiG-29S (Strictly air-to-air, with very limited unguided ground attack capabilities.) Su-17 Su-22 Su-27 Su-33 (Just an SU-27 but with folding wings and used by the Navy. Kinda like a F-14 Tomcat or something similar.) Bombers Tu-95M Tu-95KD (Fitted with air-to-ground missiles for better defense, and more modern avionics, etc.) Tu-160 "Black Jack" (Like a Soviet B1 but with better range and payload. Also more reliable in maintenance.) Tu-119 (A varient of the Tu-95 Bear, but only reached prototype stage with seeing if a strategic bomber could last when being powered by a nuclear reactor!) Il-28 That's pretty much it involving Soviet planes. I'd throw in some odd balls here and there, but those would be my main attractions. |
propellor aircraft
short sunderland AVRO shackleton Hawker Tempest Boulton paul defiant Hawker fury jet aircraft Bae Lightning Hawker hunter Gloster meteor Folland gnat Gloster javelin Tornado GR1 |
Quote:
SR-71 Spitfire SEPECAT Jaguar Phantom Valiant Victor and Vulcan (together) Buccaneer Supermarine Swift de Havilland Venom Lockheed T-33A North American F-100 Super Sabre |
My fantasy airshow
10. MIG 29 FULCRUM
9. P-38 LIGHTING 8. A - 10 THUNDERBOLT 7. P-51 MUSTANG 6. F-14 TOMCAT 5. PANAVIA TORNADO 4. JAGUAR GR1 3. F/A 22 RAPTOR 2. B-17 FLYING FORTRESS 1. A-6 INTRUDER My favorite planes of all-time pretty much in that order A-6 is the best I think I would have been a great A-6 pilot ... having your Co-pilot sitting side by side is a HUGE psychological advantage then to just being able to hear him one of my all-time favorite fighter plane movies is Flight of the Intruder..... flying tree- top @ night totally defensless to take out a bridge or SAM sight and then back again talking with your best friend ( i would assume since he is your co-pilot ) man what a RUSH !!! |
