What are the PC requirements?

ChileMike 12-18-2009 10:16 AM

As much as I enjoyed PC filght simming I gave up on it due to alot of already mentioned reasons. I do miss TrackIR ,rudder pedals etc. I just wish they would incorporate some of the features from WoP into BoP. But it sure does look good!!

I've got it for a while now. There's still some little issues (can't mention them, or Anton will be pissed, he might be with this post :P), but there's a lot of response from the devs on the beta forums. The graphics of WoP are stunning, even with the minimum requirements.

Riceball 12-18-2009 12:01 PM

O.k. Now I'm pissed off.

Way to milk money from me, and other console users so you could make a better PC version of the same god d*** game.

If you intend to give us another update (although I have yet to recieve the first, 3 months after release) including the cock-pits. I will eat my words.

And I have no doubt the PC lobby system will be quite nice and easy to find and join games.

Join in progress is available.. and you can search Any/Any difficulty/mode. I just hope they'll add lobby chat, and maybe a player list.

Riceball 12-18-2009 12:16 PM

Ha. That's nice to hear. This is unreal.

Edit: I posted a topic on the dev forum if anybody wants to chime in.

I've never bitched about the patch, DLC or anything else on here, but I have to admit I'm right there with ya buddy. This sucks.

+1 :(

Ancient Seraph 12-18-2009 01:48 PM

Can't really blame the devs for incorporating feedback from BoP into WoP.

phlux 12-18-2009 01:50 PM

No you can't, but that doesn't make it suck any less.

It does explain their lack of interaction with this community though.

I am almost willing to bet, the publisher, won't allow the cockpits to be released to consoles, for fear of WOP to take a sales hit.

They may think that some gamers think, "well WOP has ALL cockpits, so i am going to buy that game too. Since my console version of the game has incorrect or missing cockpits".

That is what i think is going on about the cockpits behind closed doors.

Thoughts?

Ancient Seraph 12-18-2009 03:36 PM

As everyone noticed, I'm not a big fan of the whole conspiracy theories going on about the devs/publishers. I think they just wanted to focus on their next project, WoP, and haven't had/taken the time to convert the cockpits yet.
What's important is to realize that having the cockpits for PC doesn't mean they can just throw them on the Xbox. I'm no developer, and if anyone knows more about this, please correct me, but it probably takes some time. Furthermore, updates/DLC's need to be paid for to release them on consoles. As most might know, the devs had to pay for the update themselves, and they might think it's not worth the money to release a DLC.
Disclaimer: all this is speculation, just as much as any other theories around here. I'm just not as negative as others.

I thought I'd let you know the reason we were given by the Devs that the cockpits were missing (it was originally posted by them ages ago and I can't find the thread)

They said that originally the game only had the option to use the aircraft with cockpits in Multiplayer, and that at some point during the testing and QA that it was suggested that all the planes should be available. It was quite late on in the process and they didn't have enough time to complete all the 'pits and that they would be released as DLC..

Since then.. Nothing. An excuse?

This is par for the course.

Every damn console game is like this. It's the business model. Madden sells a copy of its game to the same crowd every year.

Seriously, getting ripped-off is part of the console experience.

Soviet Ace 12-18-2009 10:05 PM

I never really could get into the discussions, about whether console or PC gaming was better, due to the fact that I was usually playing both with one game or another. But seeing these videos, I know we can't blame Anton and the rest of the dev team; it's not their fault. But I might just have to revert back to becoming more a PC gamer, than a console player. I know PC is more expensive due to having to constantly upgrade etc. but damn do those videos make me want to get WoP.

I've actually reverted back to playing 1946, even though the patch has been released. And plus, they're still coming out with new stuff for 1946. So I might just be reverting back to my old PC, and upgrading it to handle WoP. (Yeah, my current PC is old but it plays 1946 just fine even today. ;))

Was not my intention, Birds of Prey is still a MUST have for consoles, especially, if you love planes.

GabeFan 12-19-2009 01:09 AM

Well, My topic on the Dev forum was deleated. I did nothing wrong until somebody described my complaint as a "whining moan". I was not too happy with that and dropped the A-bomb.

I am an unsatisfied customer. I can say and do what I want (within the rules).

It was fine when I found out that the game was incompleate upon release, because everything was "coming as DLC/updates".

Maybe i'm so upset because BoP was pretty much my most anticapated game since I can remember. And as a 360 owner I really feel like I have been......

be patient bro, i'd feel ur suffering, this title was my all time fav, alto its not perfect i'd thanks them to dare publish it on a console system...

you tell me how many games that offer near to real environment on console, for PS3 none to date...so IL2 BoP earn my respect & i love it very2 much...some people feel ripped & some people feel unjustice, yeah i kinda feel like that as well but if yaa think throughoutly, atleast...i say atleast we're pleased to have one...

my only hope they didn't left this great game to sink below, bring a DLC with more plane it will refresh the game every minutes, i do believe people eager to see em too & to dear anton, (if you're reading this post) if possible try assimilate some minor fix if they are any within the future DLC content...

cheers & merry christmas to all...
