Just throwing this out there
So while it's not exactly a Second World War plane, how awesome would it be to fly the Tu-95 Bear?
|
Quote:
Though it would be kinda cheap because it'd be the only plane in the entire game, nuclear capable. :P  |
Well, naturally you shouldn't be able to fit it with nukes..

am i the only one who would rather fly the vulcan :D

But imagine seeing that tu-95 online, i wouldnt wanna go anywhere near it, though it wont put up much of a fight from a fighter, but the look of it alone is enough to scare me off |

Wissam, you are the master of Random. lol Why stop at the Tu95? lets have an AC-130 too.

And Ospreys
|
And helicopters! Give us apaches and mi-24's for strike mode.
I found a Russian Ka-50 simulator yesterday, though I haven't managed to download it cause they want rubles and all I've got is dollars. A ka-50 could even do dogfight mode. sort of. |

but not just any pavelow ;) that one from transformers :D if i cant get him for one reson or another then i'll take a MW2 pavelow!! them things seem to pack a punch haha. |
Ok, the only thing you guys seem to be missing is the B2. Now that would dominate strike. XD
|
i take a Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger. open my hatch and shout: LEAVE ME ALONE !!
P51 BASTARDS !!! shhh, shhhhh !!! go away. |
Then I'll take Challenger 2 and open my hatch and shout "Quiet, I'm trying to sleep"
|
i'll take a flight of B-52's and carpet bomb the lot of ya
|
Ha! You'll be no match for a Spitfire
Lol, what do you think would be the reaction of a Spit pilot if he saw a B-2 flying? |

Good aircraft though |
Does the B-52 have guns?
And what's more, the Vulcan is a lot more maneuverable than those planes. |

your dad flew em? cool |
Awesome, they're fantastic planes. I hope to go to an airshow where it'll be flying at some point next year.

However, my brother's god-father flew chinooks at the time and was co-pilot taking a special forces team through the mountains at low altitude. But because there's no visual reference for scale, they all just watched this mountain in front of them getting closer. Then they flew straight into it as they had no idea how close it was. The pilot was killed and my dad's friend was seriously injured, including losing a leg. The only reason they survived is because the guys in the back were obviously trained in surviving in extreme conditions. It was harsh at the time, but he can laugh about it now. We were in Cyprus recently for my bro's wedding, and we joked he could put tomato ketchup on his stump and come hopping out of the sea yelling "shark!". But then we thought that permanently traumatising little children for lols probably wasn't a great idea :) |

Surely there's only one Cyprus?

If you want a plane with a gun, you should check out the A-10, that thing means business.

@ Roboslob: Dude, what are you doing with my backyard gatling gun? Also, where did you get the keys to my Bug! Are you trying to get me arrested by the CIA. :P I was trying to ship that over to Russia, so we Soviet's could take it and of course make it 10x better. :D |
This Thread reminds me of that awesome Stormbirds Trailer. I cannot put into words how much I hate THQ for canceling it. Tu95 "Super Bear"?? and a fake'alike A-10 firing at 3900rpm X2!!!!!!!!!

Yeah they're designed for carrying tanks etc. Or huge buckets of water ;) They do look badass though...check out this documentary for some great cinematography of them. BTW, the guy I mentioned knows the dudes in this documentary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhZEVbYVcFc EDIT: just watched that documentary through again... it's superbly put together, but may leave you feeling a bit down. You're warned ;) |

And that Stormbirds game looks like it would have been hella cool |
Quote:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXcN25Imxm4 The computer voice reminds me of realistic mode, it keeps saying "maximum angle of attack" and "danger (low) altitude" over and over again, the pilot clearly ignoring it... Quote:
The ch-47's didn't do bucket drops, they used skycranes for that. Sikorskiys I think. What the chinooks did was drop us off in a big flat field they somehow found in the mountains, and then they dropped off MRE's there. I didn't like them. I got a sense like they were a death trap. |

To fly a bear?? The best bomber to fly would no doubt be the B1 going speeds upwards of mach 2 at 500 feet with it's terrain following radar...
|
Quote:
I doubt any plane could go much faster than that at low altitude. |

Still, my point holds that flying a B1 at 500 ft at those speeds would be the best experience for a bomber pilot.. |

http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/20...lancer_040808/ I'd take a Tornado GR.4 over the B1-B for low level interdiction, their speeds are comparable. No doubt Soviet Ace will take the Tu-160. Now thats a Mach 2 bomber!! |

It was also the first bomber with control columns as opposed to the normal steering wheel affairs
