Saitek AV8R Flight stick question ???
 

It seem's the choices of flight sticks is rather limited to say the least, but i plan on picking one up soon and need to know the length of the usb cable please. If it's not long enough ( my Xbox 360 sits a little distance from where i sit ) and was wondering if anyone knew whether or not i could use a male to female usb extention cable with it or not. I'm in the U.S. and i searched the web and found the Saitek AV8R-02 for 39.99 at Meijers if anyone is interested.

yes you canb use a usb extension with the av8r and the length of the cable is 103 inches (roughly 2.6 meters )

yes to your extension cable for the saitek flight stick... I went to my local computer store and picked up a male to female usb connector... Works perfect. I now have plenty of cord... Do you know if or how to use the tail gunner with this flight stick... I hope it will be a patch update,, cant for now use the tail gunner with the stick....help

I just ordered some cables from Amazon.com and was going to order the Saitek AV8R-02 for my Xbox 360 from the site i mentioned earlier but they have since sold out......i guess i'll just pay the 49.99 at Gamestop. I don't have a clue as to how use the stick with the tail gunners as i've only played IL 2 BoP with the Xbox 360 controller so far. I'll more then likey wait to use the flight stick until the patch comes out but at least i'll have the stick and cables and be ready.

you aim with the hat switch and fire with the trigger

You switch to tailgunner with the switch views button (one of the buttons on the front of the controller can't remember which) its a 3rd person view only. And you aim using the free view hat (the little stick on top of the control).

Thanks, but i usualy just go thru amazon and bought two 10' gold tipped (also has ferite cores on each end) HDMI cables and two 6" usb A male to A female extension cables for $27.00 usd and heck around here they want about $40.00 for one 10" HDMI cable.

Man-o-man, does this Saitek AV8R-02 Flight stick look cheap, and thats from just looking at it in the package. I have 30 days to return for full refund if its unopened. I'll do alittle more research, but from what i've gathered thus far its really the only reasonable option it seems. I won't pay 150.00 on a Thrustmaster just for one title and hope this 50.00 cheap piece of plastic Saitek AV8R-02 holds up to the G's...lol !

Should have the usb cables middle of next week and pray (like we all do) that the patch is somewhat timely.....L8R all !

Wall-o-texr...lol ! Does the standard MS Xbox 360 headset jack fit this AV8R-02 ? I've read that the Turtle Beaxh headsets need some type of adaptor and hope thats not one more thing i'll have to order...thanks again all !

You can also pick the colors of your HDMI cables - so if black isn't your thing and maybe pink and green are. :)

Anyone know if i can just plug in my standard MS xbox 360 headset into the Saitek AV8R-02 flight stick or is an adaptor needed. I heard that someone with the Turtle Beach headset had to buy an adaptor and i'm not clear as to whether or not one is needed for the Xbox 360 headset....thanks !

if its the new type that has a 3mm jack plug on the end it just plugs straight in mate :)

those were bar none, the best connections for the headsets. Mainly because the volume/mute is so close to your thumbs, and i do not have to remove a hand from the controller to lower the volume because some idiot retard screaming in my ear.

Thanks all ! I actually have both the older and the newer Xbox 360 headsets so i'll be able to connect the newer in-line volume model with the Saitek AV8R-02.

My next question is, does everyones Saitek AV8R-02 flight stick have the spring around the joystick visible just below where you grip it ? It sure makes the flight stick look even more cheap in my opinion, and seems they would've used a rubber sleeve or something to cover it. I never noticed it in the screenshots i looked at but mine has it and i wondered if maybe its an older one or not.
