Multiplay/single play with the MC. 202
I just unlocked the MC 202 and have a few questions that I hope someone can answer.
1) Why was there so much work in the Italian campain and single missions and only one Italian plane was unlocked? All the other campains and many different types of plane unlocked...not fair? How about the MC 205 for example? 2) Cockpit...there is none! Will it be added soon? 3) Just what type of plane is the MC. 202? Is it a zoom/boom or turn and burn? How should it it used in multiplay? I will never play it in arcade or realistic...all the other planes are faster, better armed and turn as good if not better. And with the red icon over the plane the MC. 202 has little chance of remaining in the air very long. |
1-2. I completely agree, the lack of Italian fighters was a let down. But then again, it was one of the planes that was probably put in later, and was without a cockpit like the german planes, and bombers.
3. Well in reality, the MC202 was a BnZ fighter; with the capabilities of being a TnB fighter as well. So it was both actually, depending on what it was dogfighting? But in game, it is neither of those. The handling and sensitivity is not like it is in reality, according to my grandfather who actually flew them. I've tried to turn down the sensitivity, even to the very end, but there doesn't seem to be any middle ground with the sensitivity. Kinda of a let down considering that the plane should act like it does when you fly against them in Campaign or Training, but it doesn't, and it is the only Italian plane in the game. |
I played one round in the Mc 202 because I had heard Soviet Ace talking about how good it was (This was before the game was released, so he probably couldn't know about it's in game performance). When I tried it out, I stalled endlessly and got eaten alive by Spits and 109's.
I will say it's one of the better looking planes in the game though, very sharp. ;) |

Maybe we can ask something about it's flight model on the devs forum? They admitted they made mistakes with the P51 and B17, so maybe they slipped up here too, and can get it fixed in a patch? Though I doubt it could be in the title update, too late for that. :(

I don't know. Ive done quite well using it in multiplayer games and thats against all spitfires. Its problem is it doesn't like being pushed past its limits in a turn and you get no warning whatsoever of the stall untill its happened. Its an instant stall. But I find the actual stall is quite easy to control and you can use it to your advantage to shake off anyone on your 6. I think I prefer it over the yak1, just. Still you WILL die quite often flying the Machi.
Hey a thought, Maybe that imposter of a 4 blade prop is causing turbulence and affecting the handling lol. Dev's, stick a 3 blade on there with the patch and it might become a dream to fly lol. Edit: Ok I've been flying the 202 quite a bit tonight. I'm getting better but it is very tricky, if you get into a spin you have to be very quick with the rudder and then very quick off it or you will reverse the spin, if that happens then you are usually dead with the low level that multiplayer is at. Ive found with carefull rudder use it can turn pretty well and its got decent speed. I'm gonna perservier with it though because i'm pretty sure if one can master it the MC202 is a good alternative to the me109's in early date axis V allies games. |

Edal86 and I played with this plane 1v1 and I we had no problems with it.

This plane handles like the P51 in the game only with slightly better turns. I dont stall with it, and when I use it I use it only against fw 190's, p51's, me 109 k-4, and Hurricanes, and once in a while against unexperienced Spitfires lol. Love the SKIN :)
BTW, my chances of victory are decreased in realistic mode. |
oh yeah for sure, I would only ever use it in Simulation. In relistic you'd be totally ganged up on by people homing in looking for the guy with the worst plane.
