Question
Why is it if you are the host of the match and request that certain planes not to be used, Why do people have to complain and make the whole room leave?

What planes are you talking about? |
I-16 and the I-153
|
You playing on arcade? or realistic? They are dominant on arcade, but very easy kills for my BF-109 on realistic.
Just dont turn with them. Come from far at an angle, let loose a burst...they fall like a flaming heap of wood. Doesnt take much for them to explode. Especially if your using the 109. But come on...telling people they cant use one? Im surprised your surprised when people leave the room. |
Half the time I told them I just want to do one battle with only Spit MKII and the Emile 109 then they could pick whatever they wanted.
|
I agree with the OP. I for one don't like jets in my room (although I noticed not a lot of people know how to use them), so every now and then I request them not to use it. My room, my rules. I recon you should be able to fly something else then just jets, especially in a WWII flight sim. Some leave, some change.
|
Its fine that you are afraid of facing certain foes...just dont complain when half the room leaves.
Everyone knows I cant stand the IL-2 in this game, but I dont quit or ask someone not to use it. I see it as a challenge and it only makes me better. If your afraid of getting beaten by the jet, then go unlock one for yourself. Asking people not to use planes simply because they are good is very childish. |
when you say "certain" planes cant be used..... what would you be reffering to?
if it was jets then i'd understand and say fair play (even though i never use them because i despise them). If its anything else....then maybe i can understand players complaining. |

They are not fun as opponent because all they do is fly away, if they turn, they are no challenge (no fun there either). Having them in your team --> if the know how to fly it, you have a dogfighter, and thus a teammember 'less'. Putting all the other teammembets in a outnumberd disadvantage. If they dont know how to fly it, they get killed every minute, and you lose before the game even started. I dont think they are good, I think I have been shot down only 1 or 2 times by a jet, and killed more then 20. It is just not fun (MY OPINION not fact) And if im afraid to get beaten by something... why would I get it myself? that doesnt make it more fun, they are boring to fly |
if anyone wants to fly jets in any of my games....the game doesnt launch :D they can fly jets in their own game by all means, but they are not messing around with mine.
i've said in other posts....if i want to fly jets then i'll play over-g fighters. |

I just dont agree with this logic. You win some, you lose some, thats just how it is. |

Nicely said. :) |
some people play without a mic...(me included, cuts out lag)
so they won't hear people throw their rattles out of the pram in the lobby.. and if you hate jets just set the date pre 43.. if you can't cope with an I16/15 you need to rethink your game choice... whining about being outnumbered too... honestly.... HTFU! ________ Ford Transit History |
To be honest, this topic is getting kind of useless, all arguments just repeating.
As I've stated before, I agree with the OP. People against his statement say: if you can't handle (...) don't play the game. People for his statement say: if you can't handle anything else then (...) don't play in my room. It all comes down to the same thing: play how you like to play. If the host doesn't want jets in his room, he can do whatever the hell he wants, including requesting people to change aircraft. If that person doesn't want to change, he should leave. No use asking why, since the answer in any case will be: because I want to. Quote:

Sometimes I think instead of setting a year limit for aircraft, the host could select a theatre, so for instance if he selects "Battle of Britain" we play over England and the Channel in Emil's, Mk II's, He-111H-3's and Stuka's.
Select "Barbarossa" and we fly F-4s, H-6's, and so on and so forth. Likewise with the B-17G, would be something like "Defense of Germany", fly on the Berlin map, would mean you'd need to allow 262's but I'd be for that because these aircraft did fight each other. |
if you host a game thats open to the public you can limit the jets by setting the year pre 43...but its an open room...open...
if you want to play just spits and 109s invite friends and don't waste the time of other players who seek out a game in good faith. So the op doesn't come across as a recalcitrant teenager thats taking their ball home cos you won't play how they want to? fine...hear it how you want to.. ps I play without coms to stop lag... ________ SILVERSURFER REVIEWS |

like you said in the above quote if they dont like it they can leave no use cryin if they do after all YOU gave them the choice i think all these dont use this plane dont use that plane its not fair he is using x plane etc are starting to get boring imho just play the game how you want to and let everyone else play the game how they want to just stop bitching about it and get on with it |

as for aggravation well I am now Why don't we then have a nice sticky thread for people to make their Gamertags REAL CLEAR that if they are hosting you HAVE to play their way... It would really speed up the leaving process... ________ CIVIC (THIRD GENERATION) |

As far as I'm concerned, no one comes off as being a 'recalcitrant teenager' if he applies his own rules in his own room. P.S. Yeah, we got you play without comms to reduce lag from your first post. Not sure why you keep mentioning it. EDIT: Quote:

Ps A host trying to lay caveats on an open game of say COD4 would get less understanding and advice than this thread... and since when was Host Boss? They've decided the game type and rule set which is entered at session creation...there control technically ceases, apart from when to start...Is this a Halo thing?(never ever played it) ________ Braising food |

Since the host is the one who chooses when the game starts. Not a hell of a lot you can do about it. In the end I'm glad I play Realistic and most of the people do not like jets, and the one that do usually are not that impressive. I will repeat myself, despite my earlier comment ;): Everyone plays the game how they want to. Since the host is boss he's the one that sets the rules in his room. Since this whole discussion is based on opinions rather than facts, I declare this my last post in this thread*. *unless someone posts a reasonable post which expects a reasonable answer :P |
