i have been turning in circles and i didnt get a black out... and at quite a high speed lol, but atleast i am glad it may get into the game. |
My screen went a bit red once doing the Simulator tutorial..
|
I've experienced red-outs while performing high negetive-g manuevers. I was trying to make my planes engine conk out so I could practice a restart in case it ever happened while actually fighting. I have got the edges of the screen to go black and some heavy breathing noises but that's it.

It will come in the next update, don't worry.

I was glad it wasn't there, dammit! After all, different pilots blacked/redded out at different G levels. Also, the G-suit was invented in WWII. Will that be simulated as well? Probably not. I just wish they'd at least leave it out of Realistic. The game should be about piloting skills, limited only by the performance of the planes, not some artificially imposed limit on the pilot. If it weren't for all the other fixes, I wouldn't download the update.

I think that planes designed to Turn & Burn, by the very nature of thier fighting style, impose higher G's on the pilot. They were made to endure combat under high G's, the lower wingloading would dictate this. It'll be MORE about piloting skills with blackout/redout limitations. No more pulling on the stick until spin dictates otherwise. At higher speeds, they will black out BEFORE reaching spin-out from too high of an Angle Of Attack. This will give the energy fighters (by design) advantages at higher speeds. Ex. Spit pilots will NOT be able to get full use of thier turn radius advantage over...ex. FW190 at very high speeds because Spit pilot will black out if pulling too hard trying to get angles . At lower speeds, that turn radius advantage will return. This will allow a more accurate combat scenario between the plane designs AND help give the edge to the more 'skilled' pilot. (Skilled with fighting within the limitations of his own plane that is.) I hope that makes sense. I hope that is accurate :-) |

Endless turning battles dont require skill, just a good turning airplane |

Indeed it will bring more strategy to online dogfight.
And that's great because currently you don't need a lot of tactics to win just a better turning plane. With blackouts and the new system of point, we will have high speed ACE now :) Even if I am not sure to be enough good pilot for that though because it is still more difficiult to manage your energy to avoid loosing speed than turning around with an angle fighter (while you reinforce your advantage as you and your opponent are losing speed). It would be great also to set the altitude parameter in online game for the same purpose.... :!: I don't know for you but I already had a total blackout in a turning fight, but I don't remember my speed though so I can't tell you how many G I Get :!: |
