Whats the strangest/most unprobable kill you have had?
I was playing a strike mission last night on realistic and shot down a Spitfire with the REAR gun in my STUKA! I am not known for my marksmanship to begin with, my goodness I feel sorry for that poor fellow.
|
That's....that's really not unlikely. I shoot down enemy planes with the rear guns in bombers all the time.

I was feeling fairly cocky and pulled in right behind a small group of HE-111s. I was taking hell from the gunners but put everything I had into the bomber on the left side of the formation. He burst into flames and rolled to the right and straight into the machine next to him. Two for one! Unfortunately, my engine was destroyed in the process and my wings were like swiss cheese. I stayed in the machine to watch the two beasts fall and then bailed out.
I love this game! |

Very well, I gladly stand corrected

I was playing an arcade match (Hey, you try finding a Sim match at 4 in the morning), in my IL-10, and fired off a rocket at an enemy that I was chasing. Of course, it missed. Three thousand feet later though...Boom! It hits an entirely different enemy plane. Pure luck there, all luck, but it was awesome for me.

STUKA's are extremely well armed!! they are not as easy to shoot down as they should be, they take alot of hits before falling to earth in flames.
On a side note..... The arc of fire from a stuka is rather limited, so 10/10 on your kill, well played mate ;) |

I was wondering though, if your chasing someone very low over the ground, and you fire a rocket at the ground right beneath them, might the impact be able to take them down? |
Maybe?
but if its a chase then you would have to time your shot well, so you would have to fire ahead of them for the explosion to be underneath them. To get this shot off all depends on the angle of attack i guess and height... May try later and see how i fare. |
My funniest Kill so far was with a HE-111 Bomber across Dover.
I came right in the midle of a pack of Bomber and i was coverd so much coverd in tracers and Bullets that you'd could walk on it! creeped up close righ on a Bombers Arse and fired all i had and shot off it's Wings. No Flames or anythin, Just shot off it's wings, I got the Hell outta there, sinds my wings looked like Swiss Cheese, and saw i fall down like a Brick from 20.000 Feet. that was amazing! |

But the two 100kg bombs from my IL-10 send their best regards (And explosions) to any low level fliers that try to come under my belly. They compliment the rockets quite nicely. |
I had just pulled out of a dive in my Stuka D-3 and was pretty much as slow as you can get when a Spit flew right past me. I hit the trigger on instinct and down he went. In fairness he was damaged, trailing white smoke. Sorry if I accidently stole somone's kill. Another fun one was one the other guy won. On a strike mission me in my Stuka B and a fellow in a IL-2 got into a dog fight. Picture two turtles trying to mate and you get the idea. (Thinks of Comcast comercial with turtles and falls out of chair Laughing):lol::lol:

I once hit a BF-109 with a rocket from over 1,000ft away. My cousin didnt think it would hit it, but when it exploded, he couldn't stop asking me how I knew exactly when to fire.
I've also destroyed bombers with bombs. It's a bit tricky to do, but if you fly a couple hundred feet above and in front of them, you just release a bomb or two, and BOOOM!!!! I've also gotten a BF-109 to kamikazi into a primary ground target during a dogfight. Well I guess it wouldnt be a kamikazi since I killed the pilot and his plane just fell to the ground, but when it hit the ground, it hit one of the tanks I had to destroy. This happens alot, but I love killing Nazi's by dogfighting at tree top level, and gettting them to stay right on my six, then tilting my plane to avoid a tree, and those retarded Germans always smack into or clip their wing on the tree and die. |
