i should think so.. we get it in australia and dont quote me on it but im pretty sure we are a part of asia, we play in all the australasian cup sports so im guessing we would get the same sh*t

Ghillied raptor 09-23-2009 08:40 PM

Any word at all? Hmm..

I'm gonna have to go for existential, it has a very pleasing ring to it

Ah damn, no offence, i really aint making fun of anyone, or trying not too, is that doesn't Ace Combat make you mad when you join a game and everyone is flying the idolm@ster planes while im the only one in a plane with a normal paint scheme and leaves a missile trail thats actually white? Im just saying its mostly peaple from asia that fly those. I tend to play CO-OP more and in a party because the radio noise it makes is sorta anoying...

Off topic i know, but hey...

Nope. Not a part of Asia geographically speaking at least.

I thought there was: North America, South America, Asia, India, Australia, Europe, and Africa? I've never hear of Asia and Australia being apart of the same continent, since Australia I believe is it's own nation and continent? But I dunno, I'm just a silly narrow minded American. :-P

ontheborderland 09-24-2009 11:56 AM

Australia isn't its own continent, it belongs to Oceania. Otherwise where would New Zealand be?

According to Microsoft, they use three game regions (not to be confused with DVD regions):

NTSC: North America and South America (United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile, and Brazil)

NTSC-J: Asia (Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan)

PAL: Europe, South Africa, India, Australia, and New Zealand

(In case you didn't know, the terms NTSC and PAL usually refer to TV systems.)

So yes, an Australian XBOX can play the European version of the game, but unfortunately those of us with NTSC-J region XBOXs can't. Which totally sucks, since I haven't been able to find any information about a possible NTSC-J release.

I hated DVD region encoding (and happily hacked my old DVD players to get around it), and think this region encoding for XBOX games is ridiculous as well. PS3 games DON'T use this system -- their games are all region-free.

Region encoding is just another way of companies ripping people off. The fact of the matter is that the technology is identical and its only an enforced software limitation. This is so that people simply cant buy games cheap online from anywhere in the world, which in turn puts up profits for MS.

So it's very likely we might never see it? If so, looks like I'll be forced to get heroes over europe instead.
