Bomber Formations
 

I was just thinking about bombers in BoP, and then I thought how awesome it would be to fly bomber formations in the game!


Imagine an online game of Strike with all 16 players, and on one team 4 of them are flying B-17's or He-111's etc. in formation! Or to increase the awesomeness, all 8 players could fly in formation as bombers and cause massive devastation when they reach their target.

Just a random thought, but I think it would be a cool sight in-game, even if impractical.

not quite a MASSIVE formation, but me and a couple of friends who have the B17 unlocked, liked to play strike...

we form up, go for a target and make way in formation (hard trying to stay in formation), when we sight an enemy we call him out and man our guns.....

then it gets messy ;)

Hmm, I think I'd be too focused on staying in formation and not flying into anyone, and just overfly the target without noticing :rolleyes:

you can do that, then the AI will man the guns for you ;)

i just dont trust them enough lol

Sometimes I swear that they don't open fire even thought they have a clear shot.

Oh they open fire alright....


just usually end up shooting the wrong way!!!


Though in their defence.... they have managed to save my hide a few times and shoot down a few players online for me. They are not as useless as i like to make out :)

thats true for sure.. when Im behind a player enemy bomber and he shoots at me with his rear gunner (when im behind him), and then he needs to make a turn, the AI gunner will not continue the firing, even though im still right on his 6!.

Had it a few times earlier this day, I was getting peppered, but then the player had to eg. pull up, and I could easily pepper him, because the AI would not man the turret once the player took flight controls

Maybe we can combine this with Guilty's idea and make him man the gunner position? :-P

How did you unlock the B17 .I`ved tried it so often, but never found a strike game in MP.

your looking at unlocking the B17 after playing 50 strike games (WINNING) as a bomber, this will take quite a while.

UNLESS.....


you set a private match find a mate who also wants it, set the tickest to 300 the time to 3 minutes, and take it turns to acomplish the desired number of wins.

Though this method is usually frowned upon :mad:
