BOB -practice with coming IL 2 Battle of France campaign
Waiting patiently for SOW:BOB to jump into a Hurri Mk1? Are you ready for the carburetor cut-outs when you dip the nose; the weaker hitting power of the early war Brownings?
If you mean to survive the initial onslaught once BOB is released you'd better start training soon. Practise your skills, taking on the Luftwaffe in a series of increasingly violent battles in the skies above France in a soon(ish) to be released IL2 campaign representing the RAF in the Battle of France. First up, a very roughly made map of the area of operations. This is based on the map in Paul Richey's "Fighter Pilot" book but with LOOOOOTS of artistic licence. it'll be included in the campaign download so you can print it out. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...gnMapNamed.jpg Our Allies http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...divinghawk.jpg A Potez, in case you were wondering...better get cracking on those aircraft identification exercises! http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...nMan/potez.jpg Some shots of the speedy German Dornier Do-17 (kindly jacked by HH-Beebop) in case you were wondering...better get close before you fire! Pilot to Gunner: "What do you mean 6 o'clock low?! We're at 30m!" Gunner to pilot: "I mean LOW!" http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...reallylow1.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...reallylow2.jpg Gunner to pilot: "Do you think that was supposed to happen?" Pilot to Gunner: "I don't know - I just pushed the shiny button!" http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...weneedthat.jpg Some Jerry 88's pay the price of entering the RAF zone of control. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...u88stornup.jpg Victory, but at what cost? http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18.../downedhim.jpg The 109 is faster, better armed, better armoured and can dive and climb faster than our planes. Let's pray we can outturn the sods! Enjoy your fighter to fighter victories in this campaign. They will be hard earned. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...n/splinter.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...satisfying.jpg The campaign is built on the Kurland map. The campaign will be out soon..ish...kind of. |

|

i'll look for it at IL2's best d/l site  |
Bring it on matey, I will have the 'second generation' Hurri's done tomerrow.
Not done any skins for a few months so I am working thru it. |
Looking good, FSM!
'Hurri' it up, willya? :D |
Bring it on!
I've almost completed "Piece of Cake" (the novel) so I'm all into "phoney war"-or "sitzkrieg" action! Don't forget to wear your stiff collars, fly in close VICs and use the "Dowding Spread" when attacking enemy bombers! :) |
Latter Hurri MkI's,

Beautiful work there Kristorf. The wings and fuselage ribbing look really convincing and the muted colours will be perfect for the map.
I'd like the rudder scheme, please, as in my narrative the change will be done on the airfield - just a DIY job on the undersides. The undersurface looks gorgeous, doesn't it? Something so appealing about the early RAF colours I think. |
