Identify this
I was recently flying around Deal in Kent, and was traveling along the coastline when I found this.

I saw that one too.
Dunno what it is, but I will try to make it look like dkwookies sheep during the weekend. |

i'm with dave...channel gun for shipping or AA. there was a documentary on 2 guys digging around an old RAF airfield. they came up with a couple gun emplacements.....same, same??
|
You will fond it some few miles up the valley from dover. On the westernside. A bit far from the channel to be a channel gun.

ok....Bofors 40mm AA. did a quickie search and came up with these. close enough for government work.
|
Go look at it in game. Just follow the coast north untill you see a black dot. Its not directly on the shore, about 5 B-17s away. This gun is burned and ruined, and has a breach. There is only one. It seems to small to be a coastal gun. It looks like a 76mm anti tank gun.

they would of been in the dover area, they took out a german channel gun in france, aa gun sites were in fours or eights,in 1940 mostly 4.5 inch pic 1 is whinnie ,pic 2 is a heavy aa site in essex with 8 emplacements i visited last year, still with wooden ammo racking(pic3) |
