I dont have much really :( i do have is a copy of my grandads log book (he has original) detailing every mission etc he flew during the war and time to target etc etc, its posted somewhere on this forum actually.....

I also have a flying jacket which has been handed down, not sure where its come from. I got it from my dad. It weighs a ton!! But damn its warm and comfy. Also have a flight manual for a hawker hurricane and a shell casing from a .505 round.

I've got this..

My Grandfather cut it off of a Luftwaffe officers jacket in a Pub in France. The germans had literally just run out of the backdoor as there were cigarettes still burning in ashtrays and there were half drunk drinks on the tables.

I also have a coin which was in his wallet when he got shot and it deflected the bullet. The coin is a right mess but it saved his life, I'll get a pic of it.

EDIT: Gutted! Can't find the coin, will have to see my mum I think..

1927 Mosin Nagant. Manufactured in the Tula Arsenal in Russia. Don't really know if it was in WWII but it is a distinct possibility. I take it out to the range fairly regularly, fires the "Russian Thirty-ought six" or the 7.62X54r cartridge. Has a nice little kick, this rifle is one of he most manufactured rifles in the history of combat rifles and amazingly enough can still be found on some battlefields.

OK i have a few things. a lot of the stuff has disintegrated like the mae west and flight jacket. but still have some keep sakes. the swastika supposedly hung in the nurmeberg stadium where hitler gave his speeches to the people...that is what the GI who sold it to my dad said anyways. no way to verify it but its pretty cool. to its left is a 37mm cannon round from a P39 which is what the 357th originally flew and to the far right is a 50 cal round. the pistol is an officer's walther P38 ( brought home from the war ). next is a couple shots of my dad's flight cap and goggles...the ox mask is from the era but bought later for the display. and last is the officers cap, gun camera film cartridge ( and yes i do have the 16mm gun film), and 2 silk scarves with maps of europe on them. depending on the mission they carried one of them in case they were shot down.

I agree. It looks like it just came out of the factory.

I've got lots of WWII stuff, but don't have a camera available right now. I'll post pictures as soon as I can.
