Question about IL2 1946

Been thinking about buying this since I enjoy good flight sim games, but was just wondering if it will work with Vista 32?

SOrry if it's been asked before.

Nice, thanks. :D

This game still have a solid multiplayer community?

And how difficult would it be to get into the game as a newbie this far into things?

@Windchaser

if you are into console games then BoP will be right for you but if you strife for a challenge closer to realism then 1946 will be better for you.
Btw, 1946 should be much cheaper, just be ready to spend what you saved with the software (and more) with some hardware (Hotas, Trackir, etc..) when you are finally addicted. :-D

ROFL too true. Saw the game online for sale for $10 bucks. That's a deal for sure. Then I started looking at all of the joysticks since I just have a little cheap one now and there are some NICE ones out for sure. My GF is giving me that, "Don't you dare" look, too lol.

I love WWII flight sims like European Air War, the MS one, and flew a 109 in WW2 Online, but somehow missed this one. :( My 360 died last night when I decided to get BoP and 1946. Coincidence? I think not. :D

EDIT: Just purchased 1946 from D2D and was wondering if there are any highly recommended or must haves when it comes to downloads/mods?

For starters the pure game is quite enough as one needs mods at this stadium only for eye candy.
Just download the essential patches 4.08m and 4.09m and take to the skies.
You will find the real challenge, from my point of view, only online vs. human opponents.
Then, after studying some forums, you will find, if needed, a mod-pack that satisfies your needs.
Have fun and welcome to our community.
Btw, for intensive Training there are 2, afaik, fighter schools online available for free:
in german, with some english speaking tutors, the JFS http://jfs.sturmovik.de/
or in english: http://www.joint-ops.com/
