Looking for SIM CTA players....

I play mostly in realistic mode, and have played some SIM dogfights, but like I said on line here many times, I really suck at dog fighting, even in realistic so the SIM dog fights don't do allot for me. But, I really love the SIM CTA matches I have been in. We set up one yesterday, but could not attract many players. They would come in, see SIM and leave. So, we started a 2 on 2. I enjoyed it, but it was pretty un-eventful, quiet and sort of boring. Those of us in the party were quiet, I assume because of intense concentration. But again, it was fun IMHO but was sort of on the boring side. The match I played a week or so ago had a bigger group and we were playing 4 on 4 or 5 on 5 or something like that. Point is, in SIM, you really need bigger teams for it to be more "intesnse". Bigger groups in realistic are too crazy, because of course you can track everyone and if you get good, you are tracked, and targeted pretty quick. I like the fact that in SIM, I can avoid detection, sneak in a landing, strategicly hide. Also on the other foot, I find it satifying, and rewarding having to hunt down those hidden on the field and bombing them without the aid of the tracking feature that realistic has.. To me, it is just fun taking on that challenge...

Is there anyone that feels this way, and want to take the leap with me and concentrate on SIM CTA matches?

I do :-P

Not sure if I want to concentrate on CTA, but I would enjoy playing other games than Battel Team, or free for all in SIM.

But not sure that other will want the same. The only time I host a Strike in SIM I lost 4 of my players before the game starts

Sure, I agree. I like CTA as well, especially with more people and 2 airfields. 1 airfield is just chaos, especially with 5 secs respawn.. http://il2dogfight.clangrid.com/ is a very good option to pre-arrange games.

I have played one strike match that I also liked very much. I didn't do very well, but did get a few bombs to target before I was detected. But once I was positioned, it was all but over. I found the SIM strike match was also rewarding to me. I do like the CTA better, but I am game for Strike as well. I feel "sneaky" in the B-17 trying to evade detection, and try and find the targets at the same time... Fun...

I tried to convey to one of my younger on line flyers I have been trying to get him to enjoy it. He did get a legit kill in CTA, but he was not happy with it, because he likes Arcade, and used to racking up double digit kills. I told him one SIM kill is much more rewarding than 10 tracked kills in arcade, or realistic, but I just think his young mind likes to see the high numbers over the stress in getting just the one in SIM.. Hopefully, he will grow out of that, lol... But, I will gladly fly SIM strikes with you..

airfield capture is my favorite mode, except for the bombs. It's best when there's no bombs or tailgunners allowed. Then it takes real flying skills, especially in the stalingrad maze of haystacks and rock piles. AR_Kozz, if you use ps3

This is a very late reply, but i'm in! I am finding it very difficult finding people to play strike and cta on line with. Especially as everyone hates playing with larger aircraft. My gamer tag is Mr J Muggins
