HL servers & 4.09m
 

Hello guys,

Can anyone explain why almost all of the HL servers are still running 4.08m?
I thought 4.09m is the official version and I switched to that, only to find out that I can't use it in most of the servers.

Should I switch back to 4.08m?

They sure are slow changing over this time! I have a 408 and a 409 install.

For one thing, a lot of servers on Hyperlobby are mod friendly. Most are waiting for the Modding community to update their mod's to 4.9m ( remember the 4.9 mods out at the moment are for the 4.9 beta ), otherwise it would look a bit like of a backwards step if they have to remake all their missions and lose all the modded planes.

This will take a while, as most of the modders actually have day jobs, educational and/or family commitments.

Yes it is a drag to have to work for a living!

Yea, much of them waiting for standart mod packs for 4.09m.

I agree, and I have a server running 4.09m on HL at least (==Furballers==). Need maps though (only one in rotation ;)).

Flight simmers. Always wanting more... frightened of change.

Only part of servers on HL have modded planes and maps. And for those with modded planes and maps, I wonder how they run the server before the mods emerged.

Can you join a 4.09m server running mods if you don't have the mods?

I guess were just waiting for the admins of those vanilla servers to upgrade to 4.9m
