pro freedom the essence of a free society is that you aught to be left alone UNLESS you encroach or directly infringe on the rights of others... but now we ticket 3 year olds (for thousands of dollars) for learning to urinate in their yard... now we put 1o year olds on sexual offender lists cuz they did something out of curiosity that is normal and innocent for most children now we arrest consenting adults entering in to a private contract or sale (drug dealing, prostitution) |

You have really sunk to a new low TK. And you have the nerve to call other people 'Hitler youth' and 'Brown Shirts". Maybe you should do some soul searching and have a good hard look at yourself and your attitudes. It might be good for you to read the rules for this forum - or even just rule number 1 for now. But don't become too despondant, even if you don't believe in Him, for when the time comes, it is my firm belief, that the Flying Spaghetti Monster will still embrace you in His warm Noodly Appendages! |

LOL so you bolded the part about how what im talking about has NOTHINg to do with religion....yet still believe that im disparaging you based on your religion or faith?? my interpretation is the right one....by the way and its quite obvious... they had to specifically say that rights do not originate with government...the best way to do this would be to establish (in the first legal document of the US) that our rights are INNATE or that they come from our creator...notice they said "creator" not god, jesus, yehweh ect....nothing to do with religion or faith... the reason for this is cuz governments up to this point in history (and still today) think that they can dictate the rights the people have and take them away at will...if this was not the case....we the people would not have rights....all we would have is privileges granted to us by govt that can be taken away at anytime... also you are a hypocrite...your statement: "The Flying Spaghetti Monster gave me rights?????? First I've heard of it! Cool! " was also obviously meant to be disparaging towards me....but i guess for someone like you its ALWAYS appropriate to ridicule anyone who mentions god a creator or something of that nature.... i bring up a creator, you bring up flying spaghetti monster...hmmm i wonder what your intent was there.... you are just a hypocrite and a fool...it seems that i was right in that assessment as well... im just pointing out the hypocrisy...you are the one who has thin skin like a baby crying about spilt milk... |
Do those that believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster also believe in the tooth fairy, banshees, leprechauns, Bigfoot, Nessy, vampires, mermaids, ogres, ...........?

An example of hypocrisy would be to extol the virtue of free speech and then denigrate anyone one else that says something that doesn't agree with you. Now that would be hypocritical! You state that the US Constitution (which was written by people with a predominantly Christian background) specifically mentions "their creator", (so they could be inclusive to all the citizens of the US regardless of their faith or belief systems - which, when you think about it, was an amazingly modern thinking and virtuous thing to do), but then then you denigrate anyone who doesn't share the same beliefs and faith as yourself. Hey, there is a word starting with "Hypo" for that one too! Thankyou TK! If there is one thing I have learnt from this thread it’s that if I ever get a chance to travel to the US I’ll be secure in my knowledge that my freedom of speech is guaranteed under the US Constitution (See note #1) and I won’t be persecuted for the expression of my faith. Oh! And to always carry a .50cal Desert Eagle in the glove box because the guy with the biggest gun gets to merge first! ;) Sweet! Note #1 As a guest in any country - freedom of speech guaranteed - or not - I would still feel a great responsibility to abide by the unwritten laws of accepting hospitality and try my best to remember I was a guest and not to abuse that freedom of speech! No one likes a loud mouth foriener stomping about shooting their mouth off! |

the simple answer is that you are entitled to believe in them if you so choose, but remember that many faith systems are backed up by stories that are written by people. You should always take these stories with a grain of salt. In many of these stories the author may not have meant you to take the story literally but were just trying to give examples to guide peoples actions. For example: Brush your teeth because the Tooth Fairy gives you diddly squat for rotten teeth! If you don't do what your mum says and carry food through wolf infested forests you live with the consequences! You should regularly re-examine your faith, question everything and occasionally turn a blind eye to certain inconsistencies where appropriate. Cheers! |
LOL. "His warm Noodly Appendage". Yep, I got that one! Very funny.:-P
