Ok here it is again, Should I wish to not buy an add on then CLOD is dead.

Only new modifications of existing planes – of which there are very few left. Completely new aircraft or flyable versions of currently non-flyable planes are not planned for CoD.
New ground or other objects will not happen

All this conjecture and second guessing is just that, and really serves no one. We don't know what the artifacting is and right now maybe they don't know what is causing it but in my many years of building computers and trying to play the latest must have game, and some beta testing, I know it could be simple as changing to a different driver. We all want the patch and they know this, they have to get it right or they will never get BoM out the door. I'm sure that deep down they need it to not only have the community happy, but to insure they have jobs down the road. Bashing them or the company or rehashing the old arguments is pointless and muddles up the forum. Most of us have this game because we own the original, which is still being played on Hyperlobby so why don't you guys fire it up for a bit of nostalgia and maybe you'll be reminded of why we fly combat sims and be truly impressed when the patch does arrive, just my 2 cents

Your quite right, Luthier as already walked away from the game, no more new aircraft, ships etc etc. The game is already dead, I guess we just financed the next one, but i am certain that Luthier being the great guy he is will give all those that purchased CLOD within the first month of release some kind of discount on the next release, thats the way a decent business works when they realise they fecked up at others expense. Right?

4. Are there any plans to add a new aircraft or modifications, equipment and other objects to Cliffs of Dover before the sequel?

New ground or other objects will not happen due to the fact that our previous attempts to add them were met with a universal “we don’t need this crap, why don’t you give us xyz instead” from the community. The ground modeling staff and myself have subsequently made the fully switch that department to the sequel.

You clearly said :

"Luthier as already walked away from the game, no more new aircraft, ships etc etc. The game is already dead(...)

Not the case at all.

The quote from Luthier said :

Only new modifications of existing planes - from the context of the sentence it means that CloD itself before release of BoM will gain few more variants of aircraft that are already in CloD.

Completely new aircraft or flyable versions of currently non-flyable planes are not planned for CoD.
New ground or other objects will not happen (...) The ground modeling staff and myself have subsequently made the fully switch that department to the sequel.

Which means no more new flyables & other units for CloD.

Now Battle of Moscow is to be set in two versions of install, just as original il2 addons : Forgotten Battles, Aces Expansion Pack, Pacific Fighters and Peshka. This means it can be installed alone or as addon over the earlier release, ie. the Cliffs of Dover. The IL2 release model suggests that Battle of Moscow will have additional aircraft and other units. Luthier nowhere said that it will be only Russian/German planes. For that you would have given a quote where the official plane list of BoM is. So far we don`t have that.
You do not know what content will BoM feature. The IL2 buisness model suggests that more English aircraft and units will be added to CloD with future releases such as BoM.
Switching the ground modelling staff does not mean that CloD additional content is abandoned. It will be added with releases after CloD.

You said that CloD is dead and there will be no more content for it. Moreover, you impute that Luthier said so. Above quotes prove that not only you are wrong. You are making things up.

But you know all that. You understand that. You just wanted to stirr the pot once more.

I`m just posting that so others can see your trolling.

Haha cardude, that so off it hurts to read all your effort.

It's amazing to me that after a decade of experiencing the IL2 development model, that so many people here have no clue how it works, and how it will apply content additions and game operational fixes to the original title in the series, in this case, Cliffs of Dover.

What is it about the term "merged install" that is so hard to understand?

True, we will likely never see a flyable Defiant or Anson, but, there are other types that have every possibility of being added as the title progresses, ala' the original IL2.

I understand the frustration of our fellow "pilots" from the United Kingdom, as this is their signature air battle, and it holds a special place in their hearts and minds. For much the same reasons I have hoped for a "Flying Tigers" add on, but I am also adult enough to understand that neither the UK nor the USA are the primary market for this series. Russia is, and always will be.

Did that stop us from enjoying the sim in the early days when all we had (except for the P39) were VVS and Luftwaffe aircraft and scenarios? No.

Why should it be any different now?

Tree_UK 04-20-2012 12:52 PM

lol Carguy, whatever. I love your twist on things. the simple truth is this, if you dont wish to buy any future il2 products then CLOD is dead, you cannot argue with this it is a statement of fact.

Deny so much ? guess so ...

They deny IL-2 features ... deny developers words ... then deny what they said ...

Some day they will deny his own existence and then implode :-P

Please read the post by ElAurens. If you are unhappy with the IL2 dev business model then you have chosen the wrong game.

Other than that we will have the user development kit.If only CloD gets rid of its performance problems, the kit will give CloD even more.

People are "not buying" that the beta testing found problems? Seriously? Why do you think they test software?
