they're just different ways of doing the same thing, both with the same result.

I've been able to attach the default reflector (intended for a cap) to my Logitech G35 heasdset as I always play with a headset on - works fine for me.

The G35 headset comes with interchangeable pads to suit different head shapes, I've basically used one of them to fix the TrackIR reflector in place.

I think I would have given up on flight sims altogether if it wasn't for TrackIR!

Awesome trick, Just did the same thing myself after wearing a crappy cap for aslong as I know. You deserve a Cliffs Of Dover T-shirt for that lol.

Update - All was good but now when I look up it doesn't look up very far because the Trackir is to far up on my head now. How can I adjust it to stop that happening?

You can move your TrackIR somewhere off the top of your monitor to get a better angle on it (check what it's reading using the TIR software) or angle it more on your headset. I get the opposite problem looking down as I prefer hats with the brim pulled way down low over the eyes.

I dont get that problem as the TrackIR that sits on my monitor is higher than my head - looking straight ahead my eyes are bang on center in the middle of the screen (vertically).

Hope you can find a workable solution.

I think I would find it hard using my monitor like that although it would probably make more sense to have it like that.. My eyes looking straight ahead are looking at the top of the monitor, so basically I am always looking down at my monitor screen. Do you think it would be an advantage to have my monitor elevated so I am looking at the center?

Edit: I just read this so I think I my monitor needs adjusting. The link below is for anyone else who wonders what height their monitor should be.

My monitor is set up as in the link, I'm looking at the upper part of it. The TIR camera sits on top in line with my left ear where the Pro Clip is mounted on my headset.

I think the Pro Clip LEDs are more positive than reflected IR from the camera but if you have no problems with stray light the reflectors should be ok.

I've been using TrackIR since TrackIR2 days with the reflectors. Personally I would buy the clip.

When I bought Track IR - my first reaction was: "this is all cool and such, but I don't think I can use this". Then I started messing with Track IR software settings (you can adjust pretty much anything there) and got it work really well. You need time to really get used to this piece of equipment.

However, I still have issues looking down. Like really down - when you need to inspect flap state for example. I suspect it's because my track IR camera is already pointed a bit down (as I am gaming on my LG TV).

Anyway, I think there is still room for Track IR improvements. Actually, I think all this attached-clip tracking is getting old (think Kinect). My bet is that the next device will be able to just track your eyeballs or something without any clips whatsoever.

Try Charvel's Track iR profile for COD it's really good,it's been tweaked and it allows you to look right behind you with minimum head movement.;)
