I bought the A2A RAF map, which is a jpeg file. Could I use that as the map in touchbuddy?

Yes binky9, you can.

Just substitute the provided map, for yours (might be a good idea to give your map the same name as mine, if different).

I don't have TB installed just now, so can't do any digging about for you.

If you have any problems give me a shout and I will help you as best I can.

The only problem with a static map is unless you know exactly where your own aircraft is, the map is a bit useless.

I assumed the map in your TB CoD profile was also static. It moves?

Also, on the TB website, the download for TB is 1.3.0.18, but in the Public Chat section there is a note about a TB v2.0 out last February. Any idea where it can be downloaded? Is there a new tool kit, or does the present one work with v2.0?

I'm just getting started with TB. I appreciate the offer of help. I may take you up on that offer, at some point.

Any idea when you might have the Spitfire profile done?

Thanks,

binky9

Good morning binky9.

The Map scrolls (rather than moves). Plus you can zoom in/out. It would have been nice to have been able to export the in game map to the TB screen. But this cannot be done - yet. If you are going to use your own map, substitute mine (Profiles > Hurricane > CoD_Map > CoD). Rename your own map as: CoD and replace mine.

I always used TB in the Server/Client configuration. Using an old PC to drive the Client. I moved house 18 months ago, and have not used TB since. I don't have the room for a 2nd PC.

The last version of the TB sofware I used was v1.3.0.18. I have not visited the TB website in 18 months either. Although there was talk of a v2.0 way back when, it was pretty much vapourware.

I will not be doing a Spitfire profile. I have stuck with the Hurricane since CoD was released, awaiting the patches to release the Sims full potential before I moved on to master the Spitfire (and a TB Spitfire profile). However, the Hurricane profile will work in the Spitfire (Gear Up/Down, Flaps Up/Down, Magneto's 1/2, Cockpit Lights etc will all work).

All important switches have now been migrated to my HOTAS (G940). Radiator, Flaps, Gear are all on my Saitek TQ Axis's. Magneto 1/2, Fuel Switch, Boost and Engine Start are all on the TQ's reversers. This works for me.

Technology has moved on since Zorlac made TB public. Tablets have now pretty much made the 2nd PC redundant. If I was ever going to use a 2nd screen for CoD it would be my iPad.

I have got the AirDisplay app on my iPad, and will download the same for the PC tonight. I have downloaded TB, the TB tool kit, and your profile. What do I do next?

Never used Air Display. Never used TB in a standalone configuration (as previously mentioned, mine was a server/client config). However, at a guess, try the following.

1. At the moment, you don't need the TB Toolkit.
2. Unzip (if not already) TB, and put it on C:\
3. Right Click the TB Icon and create a shortcut - put this on your desktop.
3. Open C:\Touchbuddy\Profiles and from my profile copy and paste the following folders: Background Tabs, CoD_Map, FRAPS Switches, Instrument Switches, View Switches. Also copy/paste the CoD_Hurricane.tbc file.
4. If you want to substitute my map for your own at this stage. Replace my map CoD from the CoD_Map folder, rename yours (CoD) and paste it in.
4. Run Air Display
5. Run TB (Local)
6. Load my Hurricane profile. Then drag the TB window to your 2nd monitor using Air Display.
7. Bobs your Aunty - this should work.

I forgot to add. Remember to change your Controls Page to the ones I have specified in the ReadMe. Otherwise when you press Gear Down (for example) nothing will happen!

Buccaneer,

I'll give this a try tonight, and let you know if smoke starts coming out of my computer.

Thanks,

Guys,
I'm about to try to install TB on my new i7 3770 3rd gen and a tablet PC for touch controls. But I am currently using all four outputs from the GTX 680 for 6 screens, 3 over 3 at 3840 X 2048. Will I need to run in client/server mode? I can't run in local because I don't have a screen to use from the vid card. Is this a correct understanding? I'm a total noob at TB. Thanks for any input.
