It's "easy" to introduce a new set of numbers into a FM to add a few more variations to aircraft already present in-game. It's quite another thing to model a bomber with multiple stations.

Some folks don't realize but both online and offline the different variations of Spitfires, Yaks, 109s, 190s and the like are important for historical scenarios as well as for balancing online interactions. Quite a bit of value for comparatively little effort.

It's the same sort of comments that we saw when aircraft like the Yak-7B, 1942 or the Yak-9M or the FW190A-6 were added to the game. Adding these didn't take away from getting a new attack aircraft or bomber and that is what is often implied unfortunately. Not sure if that is the case here or not.

4.10m User Guide

Well done Team Daidalos. Have just finishing reading the guide which is very comprehensive and shows how much work you have all done - no wonder there was a substantial delay.
I particularly like the changes to the QMB and FMB. The FMB selection of group listed objects will be a great time saver.
I can't wait to get my hands on the new Spitfire variant updates - I have a lot mission updating to do with with these better looking and flying Spits.
I am also very happy to see a Dornier bomber finally in the flight sim, even though at this stage it is only AI.
There are many excellent changes that will make all the aircraft more immersive to fly and create more realistic FMB missions.
Hope you can deliver us all a Christmas present very soon?
Happy Christmas to you all.

I guess getting an aircraft straight again after was bend in high Gs is a big trouble in reality. I was thinking that this is the kind of damage no one would expect to be "repairable".

What I hope is that ZUTI made the possibility to change the aircraft after you managed to land it on airfield without the need to bail out when "refly" is disabled or disabled for a period of penalty. This is particularly good when you have a repairable aircraft but with high damage so it will take a lot longer... so... the aircraft is put to the back of the refly que... sort of speak. And also... is good when you want to change role... fighter to bomber or vice versa. I know that bailing and hitting refly don't lose your plane in MDS in this situation but it looks... odd :) .

The readme does look promising indeed.

The feature of AI not seeing into clouds/night is missing but... maybe is just omitted by mistake in this release doc or maybe it will take just a tad longer to make it work and will be released soon after.

Also... support for wider FOVs would be a nice surprise if it would make it in the game in 4.10 :P .

I hope it is just that .doc - I think that it is one of the most important features of the patch. Especially if they introduce HS-129 - you don't have other chance to escape fighters other than to hide in the clouds or have AI loose sight of you in some other way. One of the biggest flaws in offline flying old Il-2 was that AI would chase you through the whole map without the ability for the player to hide. I ended up many times flying Il-2 with 12+ Bf-109s chasing me through the whole map to my airfield. This feature would have substantial effect on the sim and I am hoping it is included in the patch.

I thought TD has made clear that lately the focus was to make existing things work and that some features had to be taken out? I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing more than the guide announces. But then left out contents is usually top priority for the next patch.

Well until IL2 came out every flight sim was a Spits and 109s orgie, IL2 was the first enjoyable exception bringing Russian planes to the screen, that you never got to see anywhere else. But now with the patches we are heading in a direction of sims like EAW and simular, Spits and 109 orgies again. Maybe I am just a old pessimistic grump, but you do have sometimes a feeling 99% of the planes that flew during WWII can be dropped under the table as long as there are Spits & 109s.
And yes I am a mainly online flier but I don´t give a hoot for furball flights, they are as interesting as doing the dishes.
In the Pacific theatre there are such big gaps that one can hardly make any realistic missions, at all. We have exactly two Japanese bombers that are flyable, and both are Japanese navy bombers so missions where the army was involved are no goes, unless historical details are of next to no real interest.
Well I am hoping for SoW but not putting my hopes too high, as I expect with SoW another serving of what we have seen with every other flight sim that has reached the market, only with a lot more details.
