Way overdone AFAIK. All the streaks do is clutter up the screen.

Better, if you saw nothing... My opinion of course

Someone probably spent alot of time creating that mess of flak streaks, and the devs don't want to let got of that feature. LOL

The flak explosions look pretty good, but too much of the same thing in apprearance.

Enjoyed the video!

Has anybody here ever been flak[I]ed[I] ? We would need the opinion of somebody who has actually seen it...Maybe Luthier interviewed someone who was there ?

yeah to be honest, I do believe that flak shrapnel can be seen. Maybe not at their initial velocity, but bouncing off the windscreens/fuselage and generally making a lot of metal "tin-can impact" sounds. It's like on new years eve, there's always loads of pieces from rockets and batteries lying around. You'll even occasionally get hit by the tip-cap of the rocket after it's fallen back to earth. I think the shrapnel is too thick, other than that, I like the new effect. Some games would show this as sparks instead, but I think the shrapnel effect better represents reality. But like I said, the stripes are again too thick for my taste. Maybe some variation in size would be more realistic, since no shrapnel is equally large and same shaped.

Btw anyone noticed that the flak now simulates pressure centers? So you get bounced around by it if you are close to the explosion? I like that alot. I think once the sound engine gets an overhaul, the devs should add the sound of metal pieces raining on the fuselage for both immersion and realism. It's been done already in B-17 flying fortress, the mighty eight.

Are you on a stock cooler?

What's your i7 revision? A C0 or a D0?

Try OCing your CPU to the 4 Ghz range.

Cheers.

Certainly not as impressive as most of the vids you chaps have posted. Not particularly difficult either, just a little video of me demonstrating the benefits of fuel injection...

My systems still a little stuttery over London so I need to spend a little more time playing with video settings. I haven't even worked out how to record a track file yet. Regardless I'm very pleased with how things are progressing with the patches. A month ago I couldn't of achieved this even on low settings. Keep up the good work chaps.

Microsoft FFB2
Home made/modified pedals
Home made CEM panel
Track IR5 with clip
Vista 64
Q6600 quad overclocked to 3.6ghz (will do 4.0ghz if I want to warm the house up)
Water cooling
Western digital raptor drives running RAID (CLOD currently installed on a non raid drive though)
Aerocool Titanium PSU
XFI extreme sound card
ATI HD5870 1GB
Dfi LANPARTY JR P45-T2RS Board
4 GB Vitesta 1066 Ram (running at 800 to stabilise overclock)
24" IIYAMA ProLite display. (2ms full HD 1920x1080)

All a couple of years old or more now with exception of the card.

I have a slot for another 5870 but no plans to upgrade at the moment and I'd struggle to get a bigger PSU in this MATX case. I have loads of stuff running in the background and I need to have a go at optimisation and emptying some of the garbage out of my drives too. Fraps also made things worse.

Cheers
