There's quite a lot of people ripping on IL2 atm ;).

I manage to do it on Hardcore solo but TBH I kinda hid and let the AI do it, as long as you keep the APC's alive its not that tricky but that in itself is basically luck.

Not the second mission the second Mp map, the one with the village. If you spawn as US there are some buggies, APCs and 2 M1's at the main spawn.
Also a crate in the village has an M82 in it :twisted:

To be fair to Daz here Seraph, the level of rippage on the OFDR forums makes the stuff on here look like open armed praise. You think Codemasters just murdered your family for buying the game the way its all going off on there.

I bought it yesterday and have to say I agree. I appreciate what it's trying to do, but it fails to pull it off thanks to bad squad AI and cheap enemy uber-vision. I'm trading it in for Brutal Legend on Friday, and I don't often trade games in.

A decent tactical shooter is Rainbow 6 on N64 or Full Spectrum Warrior on PS2. This game may well be decent if you play it the same way the developers designed/made it, but if you try and do something different it just becomes a tedious exercise in unexplained deaths.

A shame because I think I could have really enjoyed it had I not been shot through tree canopies so many times. And I buy games because I want to play them, not wander along watching my AI team mates complete it for me, because they have the same uber-vision the enemy does.

im really enjoiyng OFPDR, granted it has a few issues.... AI are poor, but this doesnt affect me as i play co op so AI are not even part of it :D

Only need two more achievements now.... "ruthless efficiency" and complete on hardcore. Not far to go on hardcore now, were only mission 8. Really enjoying it.

i work 5 days a week, full time so not much time. BUT.....

I've been struck off work with a bad back, damaged the muscles :( so effectivly house bound for 2 weeks. So at the present time (until this friday) i have far to much time on my hands. Im just gald i have this to play and IL2 otherwise i'd be EXTREMELY bored.
