Such a stupid comment. Speak for yourself and avoid to ridiculize the entire Italian nation with your arrogant "WE hate her". You must respect her as the Chancellor of a great nation.

Insuber is quite right. Tough Merkel is the first foreign head of state people seam to hate in my country since Bush...

Yeah of course it's her fault that Italy (and other countries including Portugal) are in debt crisis and football is the best way to express this kind of feelings. I hate it when people mix up sport with politics.

I really enjoyed both last Italy matches and I wish them best of luck in the finals.

it's her fault to be a lame leader, total zero, a pawn of financial agencies, clueless to look beyond the economic factor of the situation and address the problem as a social crisis, and it's her job as she seems to be the head of Europe

Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Iceland, Greece, Hungary, Cyprus have already had or asked for external help, Italy and more will follow, meanwhile who's getting rich, who took benefice, and who's doing nothing to change the rules of this game?

is it every country's fault to need this kind of aid, or is there an economic and financial game with vicious rules and fixed results, that allows, exploits and rewards irresponsibility from politics and financial agents? how many more countries will have to enter this vicious cycle before people start to realize something's rotten from the root??

to just say that the countries are responsible for their situation, well, is much like saying the alcoholic is responsible for his health when someone keeps feeding him bottles; it's naive to portrait this economic situation in such simplistic ways as "you're broke, it's your fault'. not to exempt anyone from responsibilities, but frankly, at this point it's everyone's responsibility, as every country agreed in the present set of economic rules. and let's be honest, the few powerful countries are the ones that run the game and set the rules.

really, i recommend everyone 'inside job' from Charles Ferguson; it's honest, true, and above all, nails exactly the ones involved.
of course this has nothing to do with football; this requires a lot more in depth analysis and a great deal more conscience and information.

and by all means Merkel is no Helmut Kohl; he was an Europeist; the other is just a fat weasel worried about local elections.

now back to topic, i hope Italy beats Spain. and no, it's not political...

You can feed me bottles and I won't become an alcoholic. But I was gonna say whatever you think of her I don't mind at all, she doesn't play footbal for Germany.

This was so far a very nice thread. If you have to say something, please do it in another one. You certainly will get responses.

Let's see who dispatches who

Insuber 07-01-2012 01:29 PM

Spain is the favorite team, but they suffered too much against Portigal and were luckier with the penalties.
Italy had to beat Germany, the other great favorite of the tournament, and did it in the ninety minutes.
If I must bet my 10 euros ... Italy, provided that they find again the countermeasures for the catenaccio and tiki-taka as in the first match.

Cheers!

That was a statement. Italia, such a result in a final........

Insuber 07-01-2012 08:53 PM

Chapeau to Spain, too strong for Italy.

Squadra Azzurra did a great tournament and a bad final, Spain the other way round: a great final after a so-so tournament.

Cheers!

Jaws2002 07-01-2012 09:27 PM

This Spain is too strong for all the world, is an insane team. Spain has been terrific even if Italy this evening was too exhausted for this game.

Congratulations to Spain, you guys deserve it.

You're the best.

Period.

pupo162 07-02-2012 12:27 AM

it was a good match i had fun watchign it dought it was not a tough one for spain. fortunatly spain played the game when they were winning rather then tick-tacking like they did with the french...

just finished the after party, time to go to sleep and say goodbye to football, see you in 2 years, in brazil
