A squad mate of mine uses all the special effects, with his 9800GX2 (his system is very similar to mine), without any significant FPS drop. So no, not FPS killer. FPS killer? Get yourself a better computer. Again, as said many times. Give it up. This is bullshit. Nothing is being gained from it is it? No. All this constant arguing is doing is creating more of a rift than the mods have or ever will do. =============================================== Nearmiss; Don't like the heat, stay out of the fire? Its not the heat that bothers me, its the fact that this site, of all the possible sites, is the one that pretty much promotes the abuse of other members, and other community members. Go figure why this is soooo popular  |

Ehhhh, so 1 squadmate of yours with 9800GX2 runs this 7 year old (yes, 7) game without ALMOST no FPS drop when using thees new effects masterpieces, is that right? Can belive u even argue about it What my specs are is kind of irrelevant, not everyone runs the same rig your 1 squadmate is. My point beeing: its easy making new eyecandy stuff without having to worrie about anything eccept how it LOOKS....and not even that is done right most of the times. Does all the mods suck? No, i would say about 35% euqals what it is supose to replace (orginal) and about 5-10% exceeds it (orginal)....cockpitrepaints for ex. The rest? Well its plain....new, nothing more, nothing less. |
Yes, thats right. With a decent system, there is no loss. Funny how better hardware works eh?
But you know what, I'm not going to pull into your little debate BS - which I must ask though, whats the point in even spouting that? What do you hope to achieve. Your computer can't run it? As I said, buy a new one. If you are really that determined not to use it (which can I say, by your actions you've basically done what a lot of anti-mod users are saying, in that you broke the law by even downloading them :roll:) - what does it matter? But never mind, you enjoy your little tests of the "nasty, evil, illegal hacks", and you and the rest of your friends that keep pulling this topic into disrepute; continue your spiteful little comments towards other members of the community, and well done for contributing your part in helping destroy the online component of this sim, and the community!:rolleyes: A+ Baron. |

Lol, dude, u really cant handle reasoning based on facts can u. But hey, when all else fails, get personal, seems to be a standing order amongst u people. U think this kind of awnsers will keep me or anyone for that matter giving my/theire opinion ( on a free forum) ? SOME PEOPLE DISSEGREES WITH U AND YOUR FRINDS COMPLETLY OR IN PART, DEAL WITH IT AND MOVE ON! All of u are so wrapped up in stomping on anyone/anything remotly negativ towards mods u dont even notice who is completly against it or who is just partially against it, or who just love mods, but thinks that perticullar mod is plain dogsdodo. Who i am...well u figure it out when u calmed down. ;) (Ill bet your wrong in any case) BTW. If E8500 with 9800GTX isnt deasent by todays standard iv goten royaly screwed havent i? My point stands: its easy beeing creative when u got nothing to worrie about other than making it look good ( or worse as the case may be) Let me put it this way, as of yet i haven once seen a mod friend say anything remotly negative about any mods whatsoever in thees open dabates, nothing, nada. Cult pops into my head and frankly, it freeks me out. Is there some obligatory brainwash handed out when u register at AAA cos frankly i didnt get one? Who should i PM about that? P.S. Dont forget to be outraged for beeing compared to a cult. Just a reminder. ;) Another way to go is NOT to take everything literally. |

I'm one of those who don't use mods, and refuse to use them, but hey, thanks for pointing that out; Those who avidly do not use mods, are the ones that keep getting personal and abusive.. Clap. Clap. Clap. BTW, I got personal? Gee... Quote:
I apologize if you felt I was specifically targeting you, I'm just sick of seeing the arguments over these stupid bloody things. |

Well, maby its hard to tell sometimes, but im as sick of it as u are. Mostly im sick of the complete lack of balance...its all or nothing (the opinions) and thats why it allways gets uggly. P.S. I never ever get personal/namecalling unless its handed out to me first. And having a post of mine completly turned around to call me a wannabe cheater (amongst other) gets a name and a permenant ignore. I wont stand for infentile behaviour, espesially when its consistant to everybody and his granmother just because they dont agree with that perticular person. As for the labeling by both modders and modhaters, i dont care for it and i dont give a rats a**, frankly ;) Just because they give something a name doesnt make it true. BTW, when i used the "personal" remark it was bacause if lack of a better word. Still haven come up with a replacement. So, anywho, no need to keep this going any longer. P.S. I would be 100% mod friendly....if Oleg where running the store, or apointed a store manager, until then, thx but no thx. |
Hilarious.
The mod users can leave the thread now and let the so called 'anti-hackers',some of whom turn out to use the mods themselves, just for 'testing' of course, tear themselves apart. :) |

does anybody buys the "my friend told me" or "i've seen it on friend's computer " BS anymore ? Z |
You guys know what my stance was at first, all caused by my concerns for the game.
Now I can say I'm glad that I softened my position. Is everything perfect in mod land? Hardly. But by and large they have improved the experience of IL2, and helped fill the gap until SOW arrives. I also see the mods as a training ground for when 3rd. party/player contributions will officially part of the sim, as they will in SOW. Has it has been pointed out, and rightly so, it is easy to make something that is high poly and looks good, but it is much harder to make it look good, and be low enough in poly count to actually work in the engine. The modders are indeed finding this out now and honing their skills. When SOW is released I don't think we will have so long to wait for new aircraft, ships, etc... I just hope that the system for official testing and approval of 3rd. party additions is able to cope with the flood of new content. Enough squabbling, I'm going to go fly. Cheers. |
