Oooo...just came across this, Air Display has been released for Android. Looks like you need ICS which shouldn't be a problem.

I wonder if it will work as well as the Apple app.

Hey guys,

I have setup touch buddy on 2 PCs over a network and I know it is working b/c I can send keystrokes to notepad. CloD on the other hand does not respond to the keystrokes.

Any ideas?

Thanks, StiC

EDIT:

Solved the problem by running TB in XP SP2 compatibility mode with admin rights on both machines.

I purchased Air Display for Android. Set it all up. Loaded the panel to my tablet. At that point the switches and toggles work. Load COD and when I am in the cockpit they stop working. Still more debugging to try.

I am watching your progress for a working Android solution.

Keep at it

hi guys,
i just bumped into this interesting thread and i was starting to sort out how to install all the required stuff in my iPad and the Pc when I came across another iPad/iPhone application called "custom keypad".
It allows you to create a custom keypad, even with custom images on it and several pages. It requires a vcn server installed in your computer (like the open source tightvcn that can be foun in http://www.tightvnc.com/)
Your computer needs only to have the vcn server software running, no extended desktop, no airdisplay or alike.
I did some quick tests under IL2:1946 and all was correct. I'm looking into using it for CloD because it looks promising.
I also did a quick search for a similar android application but unsecesfully.

+1
Promising indeed!
Just downloaded the app and vcn server..it does what it says on the tin!
Even I managed to get it going in 5 minutes.
it lets you define buttons, trackpads, gesture pads, directional pads and a cute 'virtual animated joystick'

OK so I downloaded everything and connected the Ipad to the network, but I cannot get anything to show up on my ipad. I see that is has created a space "in between ' my two monitors, but when I drag the program in nothing happens. Any help???

which app are you using...Air Display or Custom Keypad?

lensman1945 04-10-2012 09:23 PM

...after playing around with the Custom Keypad app some more, for the life of me I can't see how you can import a picture to use as a background image.

However, I've found KeyPadPro which also does the business AND lets you use a background photo.

..so...no Air Display or touch buddy required if you are wanting to use an iPad as a cockpit controller.
:-)

But, if I understand correctly, you still need it to show the in-flight map or check the position of the gear indicator. Am I right?

And one question for Phat, I have read Air Display reviews where they say that a lot of CPU goes into it. This would be terrible for my PC, which needs all its CPU cycles for CoD :)
Any input about this?

Thank you!
