#2 It's not people with a "mid ranged" computer that have the most problems it's people with higher end computers getting problems I-7's 480 Cards SLI 6xxx series etc Might be something to do with Multi processers and memory #3 Alot of people were told that many of the things would be on top of the "to do list" New sound engine was on the top list ..However instead of replacing the 1946 sounds from 8 - 10 years ago ...We ended up having a new ship added Its sad to the point where customers are making there own sound mods I even offered my services on real plane engine start up to shut down recording and formatted for gamming files at any lenth or speed needed and other sound file add ons ..wind, guns cannon etc To maybe speed up the updates Alot of the game still needs to be FIXED before you have small update tweeks And really compared to older dogfighting games ya the grafix lighting and shadows are nice. But game play for alot is useless ....I don't care if my spitfire has a hole in the wing if i can still fly it and shoot Long as i'm able to log on and my fps is stable But it seems its backwards when the updates come out |

I'm playing DiRT 3 at the moment and there too the AA doesn't seem to work properly. I still see (albeit very minor) jaggies no matter what AA settings I use. But yeah, the AA is a big issue with me too. The jaggies really mar what is otherwise (for me) a pretty picture. What can we do other than hold thumbs and hope? The blue lines issue was fixed, so maybe the AA will be in time too. |

And yet we don`t know anything about what pcs those people have. You may have the best hardware, but if you don`t know how to operate it, then you get problems. If you know your pc, you can get the most out of it like I do. Maybe you should get a console, so you won`t have any more problems. And yet, even if we DO see a lot of problems for the high end pc folks, which we do, they are probably the loudest ones which doesn`t mean that every person with so and so hardware has the same problems. There`s a guy raging about these forums screaming that he has ugly landscape, crap fps and all is crap. He doesn`t take into account that his views aren`t the rule but rather the exception. Quote:

If with this HW your game is unplayable (when I have less HW but 70+ fps on my 3x20" monitors), I wonder a.)what you have (not) done and b.)what you expect... ~S~ |
It is strange that the game functions on my below par laptop with details med-high frame rates averaging about 25fps (spec in sig - optimised by me) over london, anwhere. It looks great and plays well. Sure I can stress it right out with a few cloud layers etc.. but otherwise it goes really well. I have experienced bugs with sound cutting out, sounds cutting each other out, crackling etc... but very infrequently and usually when viewing tracks. I shall have a go online today to see if it happens there. The UI is fairly sparse and uninspiring, much like the last in the series but this I don't mind. I've clocked up 80+ hrs in steam just playing with the Blenheim IV with its touchy motors it is a very satsfying machine to fly. I have briefly looked through the others though not in much depth yet, but I'd say the BF109 is the scariest on take off, followed by the Spit. The flight model in this game seems to be every bit as delicate as DCS-A10c - both give a very good 'feeling' of actually flying an aircraft, just like Grand Prix Legends gives a very good feel for a 3.5L V8 open wheeler screeching round a track. I sympathise with people having problems I bought Silent Hunter 5 from UBIsoft last year now that was truly a waste of money, the dev team was split after 2 patches. Modders have worked magic and saved it, just, but not for me. However, 'waste of money' threads etc.. are antagonistic to your cause. ranting and raving will not help either the devs work or their attitude towards you. proper non-emotive descriptions of bugs/hardware/software env/etc.. is what the devs need. What all you doomsayers need is a bit of patience. Still, freedom of expression and all that (mind you this is an internet forum not the Geneva convention) yes if people want to complain that is their right, let me just say, here's some cheese :-

If only we would be given a map editor that was shown as one of the friday updates... that would make the waiting bearable until bugs are ironed out or new engine is put together (sound, AI, ...).
Ah yes, the map editor... |
LOL!!
The only reason I follow this forum now, is because it's like the Sunday paper you read while taking your morning dump. You know you'll get a laugh or two while reading it with the understanding that the publishers aren't taking it seriously either! I call it the Banana Circus Weekly. Beautiful. |

If you compare the trailing edges of the wings with it off and on @ 8x, there's a definite difference to the crispness. Maybe it's not as much as people would like, but it is definately there. I just can't run the game with it on.:) |
