Oleg, why has the Hurricane pilot taken his helmet off? Will he exit the aircraft carrying it?

They are all at the moment without helmets. There are going current corrections in code. I can't all the time to explain that all is WIP and corrections.

Crippeling a plane on a test run (ports still taped over), ah the ambulance is also modelled.

Will the (field) guns open fire from the trenches?

Any weapon located on the ground is working

nice we get trenches, London in the fmb, can you show us the complete BoB Map?

Hecke 10-29-2010 12:30 PM

Oleg, can we set the draw distance of grass?

The gear was damaged due to hit in crater (shell-hole)

Great to finally see it in motion again. Love the smoke from that angle, the 3D trenches and the damage detail on the Hurricane - so can we also lose individual propeller blades in combat? That should be interesting for the engine :)

The London map looks scary - both for modelling it and for my computer to fly over...

Best wishes for the exhibition, hope all goes well!

No yet. The grass eat enough that to give you great distance of drawing it.

Thanks for the sound and video update. Bugs or not, it sounds believable and the bass levels seem very good to me...the engine drowns out most of the other noises and the guns can be heard in a somewhat muffled way, it seems pretty realistic to me.

I also liked how the needles play before settling down (watch the RPM needle on the top right of the instrument panel), instead of instantly pointing to the correct value. Finally, what i liked most was the fluidity of it all and how planes move in a believable manner.

Just seeing the other AI hurricanes attacking and breaking off, it's apparent that not only the flight models have improved (they look exactly like real hurricanes turning in the battle of Britain film), but the AI as well (they make a short pass, aim accurately and they get out, very good).

As for the screenshots, there's some very nice detail on the crashed Hurricane...the tire on the collapsed gear is blown out, the pilot is not wearing a helmet and the guns haven't been fired (the red tape is still intact)

Also, didn't anyone else notice this?

Does this mean we can save a track, then play it back and record it to a video file as we watch it? If yes, then that's a very nice feature that will save a lot of time for movie makers.
