I dont understand why this game is not more popular. I play MM3 with WOG and this game + Red Sand is even better.

I dont understand it either why nobody is looking/playing. This game is addictive as hell.

And crossworld is way better then warrior of the north.
Which files do i need to check for translation? Perhaps i can help somehow.

You need compare the rus_chat and rus_quest folders, that are ver.1.7.7 with the ones the game use (ver 1.6) eng_quest and eng_chat.
Some dialogues in eng folders are already corrupted and you find some ppl saying "goodbye" in lines that the right text is "trade" in one line and "goodbye" the other.
I normally take care of that if I find a npc that is "stuck" in a dialogue. The most important folder is already done (other).

This is based in the work of fillyra.
So, using version 1.6 I already add the extra lines needed for the folder OTHER. That folder is now 1.7.7

Now comparing the english version 1.6 with russian version 1.7.7 you can check if there are new lines of dialog.

All credit is for fillyra, that user made all the heavy work.

Again: all Russian text is version 1.7.7, all english text in folders CHAT and QUEST still 1.6.

Fixed Rune Staff description, I hope. The staff as many entries because there is a version for every combination.

Still working my way to Red Sands. I find the guy that translate the map and now questing for that.
No real issues, 3 inconsistent crashes, few error in typos, need test new units and is skills.
Some feedback can help.
New units: Avenger, Gorguana Advisor (look like purple ninja).
I think I dont find more errors until Red Sands area.
Orc Saboteur work without crashes now.

Edit: Fixed "Fallen Star" quest dialog that cause a crash, thats in the original translation, a single typo cause the crash :p
Is the one in Elon. Wonder why nobody mention that.

rus_items,ing is a pain.

Edit2: A second look into these files and I find LOTS of small errors caused by the program used in translation. Removing hundreds, literally, of empty spaces that cause some items and skill dont show properly. I dont have right now the patience to do the same with certain chats. I already did 30% of the new translation.

But in game, my human troops get +1 initiative - Battle Cry effect for 1 turn... which isnt very impressive. Is this a bug in game (I suppose it should be lvl1 Fit of Energy), or just wrong translation?

This effect for humans caused lots of problems with enemy units. In case some ranged enemy unit get second turn game just run in loop, and block. You had to force shut down, and restart. So in last patch battle spirit was changed to give +1 initiative to human units instead one more turn.

It was OP anyway. Before Red sands only goblin had similar passive `unstoppable`, and in this mod they gave same bonus to whole human race. To much.

I have certain PC troubles right now, but I check the files as soon I can. I admit I NOT end the game, I leave at lvl 30 +-, but I m sure if I check for Vasdegam and compare russian-english I find something.

Sorry for the late reply. Was busy with work and stuffs.

I was using Red Sands 1.8 and the translation provided in the previous 2 pages, and still met this problem.

Mind if I ask what is the quest previous to that part? I know it's nice to have it's fixed but right now I just want to pass the quest.

Like I said, I stop playing because I m hook in another game. Youre far ahead and I made the translations every time I stuck because of dialog. Sometimes is difficult to know if youre stuck because you miss something or for a error.
I open the files in ?:\???\King’s Bounty Crossworlds\sessions\red_sands\locations\rus and COMPARE line a line the content of eng_chat with rus_chat and eng_quest rus_quest, some files are big, like eng_items.lng in "others".
I use notepad to open the files. The googletranslator is horrible, so, normally I choose a word that as some sense. My translation is a recycle of the work of fillyra, I translate the extra lines of the new version of Red Sand and try to made some lines more clear. Still, there is a lot of work to do. Check eng_chat_0885533200_0674770651.lng for example. There are 184 files to translate just in eng_chat, that are linked to eng_quest, a single symbol out of place can freeze/crash the game or made you get stuck in a quest. I made a fix months ago for a "/" in the wrong place.
If the quest youre stuck is give by Vasdegam, I suggest you check with a searcher (I use FileSeek) for the word (Vasdegam) inside the files and compare every file the searcher find with is Russian versions for inconsistencies.
Right now I m short of time to do that. Good luck.

Red Sands 1.8 crashing
 
Having a problem with red sands 1.8 full crashing on some quest fights. The latest one is with Zag-Zag I can't just skip the quest and move forward in the game. Should I try going to 1.7 instead? I am new to red sands and could use any help I can get. Thanks.

Where can I download this mod? I follow the directions but cannot get anywhere. When I click on the download icon it takes me to a page where I cannot do anything. Help!

These links were in all in the last 3 pages of this thread. So if you get stuck go back and take a look for help. I've not played it myself, I always waited for a completely bug free version but it seems development has finished.

That being said I just downloaded them while I could, files have a habit of disappearing off the net eventually. :(

Got it. At first it did the same thing (this is the same page I was on before) but then I tried it without using the Bing translation and it worked. Thanks again.

I am playing Red Sand 1.6. My game always crashes when I try to give fallen star to Aster Bless on Elon. Also my game crashes when I enter into mysterious tower on Debir. I completed 4 levels in the tower, now I want to do 5th level, but game stops when I enter into it. Any idea what should I do to finish these quests?

The dialog files in english seem to be there as well, like eng_chat_0536743116_0055169642.lng,

Translation is wrong. You need to translate (in the game) the map that you got from that guy from Bolo Island. In order to do that you need to go to Rusty Island and find those two pirates and then go to Verona (follow the "three wolves" quest). You will also need to visit Odin Allem in Verona. Be aware that he is translated as "one single". After you've finished those quests visit Vasdegam.

Hi there,

i have a problem with the "Red Sands Main Quest"


i collected all parts for the dwarf on Ork island... but now i am sent back to Bolo to visit Zigurd...

Nothing happens if i talk to him... i can ask him about red sands, but nothing happens... he just tells me, that he tried to land on the island, but failed every time then tells me not to tell anyone.

Quest still remains "visit Zigurd on Island Bolo" ???

What am i supposed to do ?

As I understand the developer has left and there is no bug free english version - someone is still working on the russian version (1.7.3) but there will be no new english version.

is this correct or is there an actual working english version ?

has anybody else suffered frequent crashes when using adepts of darkness? I was trying an all undead army with Mesmer as companion; it doesn't happen ALL the time but I had my game crash three times in a couple of hours, which was enough for me to go back to a former save and chuck the undead (they were interesting, but without AoD it's hard to get enough evlins for a no-loss game). It happens when walking the AoD into an evlin. Not every time, but more or less once every 3-4 times.

Crashes
 
These crashes are maybe because a wrong typo in the skill config of that unit, orc saboteur are an example of that.
You can try to fix yourself, its long a boring, or change to another troop.

how do you Level Asmadeo?
after several battles where i used his skills he is still Level 1(0/3)

That doesn't sound right. When in battle after every action you take with Asmodeo you should be seeing a message about how much experience he got in the battle log.

Unless something is seriously broken in your mod install, the only way to use Asmodeo without him leveling is if you somehow managed to use his skills only on objects like Statues/Bombs etc..., everything else should be leveling him.

Any attack where he damaged (enemy)units, any time he took damage from anything and also when he uses his drain/life transfer/raise undead skill (I play russian version, so don't know how it was translated), should be followed by a line saying something like "Asmodeo earned x exp". If you right click on Asmodeo in battle to show the unit unit screen, on bottom where all his skills are listed, you should be able to hover over each one, including Attack and Defense, to see their current level and current exp/out of total needed to get next level.

If you mouse over his skills you will see how far along they are (77/100) or so. When he levels you'll get a message in-fight and afterwards you have to interact with the equiped Asmo item.

I downloaded the mod a while ago, but then WotN and Dark Side ran interference...

The missus and I just started it up a week ago or so, we're not far into the game (cleared first 3 islands) but I just wanted to comment the developers and all so far involved on an awesome gaming experience !

Truely a joy to play :-P

is this the most up to date version of red sands ever released? I couldn't find any working links further into the future of this thread. I just wanted to ask, because this forum seems to be slowing down and I want to make sure I have the best copy for myself in the future.
