For Proton, simple answer, use the phone number provided and then report back.

For Alpha, your right, the digging around proves nothing, But some people here are still convinced Ubisoft are involved, sometimes you have to go these measures to show otherwise.

I dont have a music company, i was a professional drummer signed to a label back in the nineties. I now have a Computer company that builds custom overclocked PC's.

To be honest I don't see what all this digging around achieves, it simply creates more speculation.

It fills an otherwise boring day at work with speculative and at times highly informed opinion.
I greatly enjoy the great Raconteurs like Fuerfaulke debating the issue of the day.
Lets face it unlike other new game forums this one is filled with a wealth of absolutely nothing other than the odd in viewer screenshot and the high pitched whine of the fan-boys in defence mode.
I firmly believe the game formerly known as SOW BoB is far closer to finished than Oleg says and that the lawyer game is one of the main reasons we have seen nothing.
But until then I pop in every day or so just to hear the roar of nothingness.

.

Well those that were around when the Pacific Fighters & Grunman issue was at it hight would have had a clue maybe 1c & Ubi weren't getting along, and knew they wouldn't be in on this project.

Also

I only hope the "distro" is done right this time and a global release date is implemented and the software is not delayed.

Last few releases have had piracy come along to fill the gaps, the Hyperlobby was full of people asking for torrent downloads, the Europeans release date was weeks ahead of the US/CAN this encouraged many to download the game and get back flying again on the same version as everyone else. (Im not accusing any US/CAN fliers of piracy :) there were some who had the game sent to them from squad mates etc )

Once this trend sets in it becomes habitual and some are brazen enough to admit to never buying a single IL2 series disc.

So I don't care who is distributing it so long as its done globally to maximize Olegs profits for the work he done with 1c Team :)

It would be a good idea that they release a demo for the new title.

This will silence the pirates who like to "try before I buy" and give an indication of system specs etc etc.

This also explains why the website we were promised in December never appeared, ....

Really? Because UBI is p*ssed by Oleg, they don't launch the website? That doesn't explain it to me, honestly.

To me, it's much more reasonable, that there is no website because there is nothing to show or say definitely about a game that is most likely to be released in more than 12 months ahead.

However if some of you doubt what i have posted then please feel free to call any of these guys, but please note that James is currently at E3, but Phil is still in the UK.

I don't doubt at all about what you posted about the phonecall, but I have doubts that it's the full and only truth and I doubt the conclusions you are drawing from it. That's all. There is no official information on that, neither from UBI nor from Oleg. If they are no longer involved, why would it be such a top-secret stuff he told you? Why not share the details with us? It's really an invitation to doubt.

And I most honestly doubt, that it will make any difference, anyway.
Infact, if Oleg has no longer a contract with UBI (e.g. because the contract was only about the old engine - one more reason why they switched to a new one?), he's probably even more cautious releasing information about game-contents, release-details and ingame-shots.

So, if the background of what you say is true, Tree, that would be an overwhelming reason to stop bashing Oleg and demanding updates. ;)

I'm not really sure that anyone here was "convinced" that Oleg was in bed with Ubi...I think it was more of an assumption based on a lack of information.

So Tree, what band where you involved with? I did a bit of touring myself, back in the good old days (had a couple of releases too).

Life

It's what's going on around you..... 24 hours a day, 7 days a week non-stop.

Get out and enjoy it. The sim just might be here when you get back....

Feuerfalke, Ubi own the domain name for SOW that's why Oleg cannot have an SOW website unless he changes the name. Also if there was nothing to show on the website why would 1C/ Oleg tell us that a dedicated SOW website would be finished by December 2008? Was it just a blatant lie on their part??

I personally have not drawn any conclusions from my conversation(s), i have only reported what was said. This is certainly no major news scoop, nothing that was said to me was 'top secret', you are all welcome to call Ubi and have a discussion and will be given the same info, i just happened to have a connection that gave me the right names to speak to, nothing more than that.

Proton45, I was in a band called The Beekeepers, we were signed to Beggars Banquet, what about yourself?

KG26_Alpha 06-06-2009 01:06 PM

Tree UK

If you are so concerned why mess around with the middle men.

CALL OLEG :)

Please put an end to this tittle tattle of calling UBI poking here and there............. you wont get any conclusion to anything.

"SIGH"

Tree_UK 06-06-2009 01:38 PM

Alpha, I am not concerned or looking for any conclusions, i answered a thread started by proton who asked if we thought Ubi would be showing anything of SOW at E3. I am not trying to make a point, or claiming anything is vapourware, i am merely repeating what i have been told. So please stop getting upset, if i could call Oleg i would though i doubt he would give me any straight answers and even if he did you lot would not believe them.

Theshark888 06-06-2009 06:50 PM

What's all the comotion about, wasn't it common knowledge that Ubi was not producing SoW from about a year ago??
