I'd guess all cultures try to enforce "proper" spoken language. If they didn't, the change might be far faster. Ussian Uthe of today might not be able to watch classical era Twilight Zone, or listen to Rolling Stones, and understand the dialogue or vocals.

With lyrics like "No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue" I am not 100% sure I ever quite understood the Rolling Stones even at the time the songs came out. |
