there is colour replacement via the adjustments rollout, but you really want to lay down stuff yourself, its very haphazard using photoshop tools like that. regards the time. its the quality that matters imo. take the time its worth it.

what a ugly bastard. ;) I can't believe the've even put german markings on it...
I know it was for that movie but anyway. |
nice skin bigpickle.
see you got the layer fixed :) bit heavy on the panels imo. its a shame the developers mixed the panel & rivett information with the exhaust weathering. if i get inspiration i might re make them both. btw another technique i sometimes use is to bake light over the main skin. adding that panel & rivett information into an alpha channel then using render/lighting effects with the alpha channel selected under the lighting settings with a directional light produces more light and shadowing associated in a pseudo bump map for the panels effect over the main diffuse. its quite good for simulating the fact that the physical information is heavily painted over on these planes in RL. as opposed to an actuall physically painted panel line or rivett. becuse for example. what you actually see is 2 panels meeting not a line between them. simulating the shadow and highlight of the 2 panels meeting is more correct imo. but maybe i take that too far lol.. |
