I am sure pop up can be fixed, it's just the LOD that needs to be set at a higher setting so it blends in with the distance. Probably how WOP does it pop ups so they are less/not noticable. But seeing as the graphics of CLOD are mostly in DX9 then yes WOP is going to look miles better, as they move the DX10-11 stuff over to the sim then it will leave WOP behind, I think, in all areas. Its been only one month after release so there is still plenty of waiting to be done, but it will be done. Hell Creative Assembly is only rolling out their DX11 patch for Shogun 2 tomorrow and that is a AAA studio!

Perfect.

And why people don't try to compare the AIRCRAFT MODELS and GROUND UNITS MODELS between the two titles?

And cockpits? And dynamic shadows in EVERYTHING?

People know NOTHING about software and talk a lot of crap. WoP is a nice "AIRCRAFT SHOOTER", but is only good in terms of performance.

The only real flaw in Clod is the LOD loading, but I can understand that: it's because in a SIM you need to priorize things... Why people don't compare the "eyecandy" of aircrafts/lights in Clod? The effects? The damage effects? The sense os moviment? The dynamic shadows and reflections in cockpit and aircraft?

People are blind... Clod need a lot of optimizations and development, but have BEAUTIFUL graphics. The planes are simple amazing in all details.

That's a load of steaming bullcrap, WoP fades stuff in at a far closer range than that and it's easy to use a narrow point of view and see no buildings at all.

Compare WOP and IL2COD is like compare Call of Duty and ArmA 2

At the end you're just only shaming yourself by not understand what they are.

It seems if you like a Game/Sim, you can only install one on your hard-drive as it is Blasphemy to mention any others.

Anyway, this is with 16x AF and 6X AA, everything maxed out...what's not to like....it's fun! AND NO POP-UP!!!!!! ;)

Okay, whatever.

Why don't you toddle off and go play the game (emphasis on game) instead of trying to 'save' us from ourselves?
This is the CoD forum...not WoP.
Bye.

People are comparing wop with il2cod because cod looks horribly worse compared to wop. Obviously We don't need a rocket scientist to know that COD is way more realistic but the truth is that COD is still unplayable for many and graphically speaking there is no apparent reason why IL2 COD should be so hardware demanding.

I play IL2COD almost maxed out (1920x1080)except buildings(med) and it doesn't graphically look so stunning to me, in fact I see it like the graphics were already obsolete. At least on the landscape thing.

the " WOP maps are so small that dont occupy enough VRram" is crap. building in il2 POPout in 5 km radius, wich is rediiculous. WOP may not have the 200 KM+ view of CLOD but at least in its all 50-60 KM range buildings are consistent and not popping.

Clod visuals are disapointing. I wouldnt have WOP ones over it, but there is a LOT 1c could learn from WOP

honest comment. agreed!
I like the way WOP looks, but can't give up COD for all the great things it has to offer.

I have played IL2: 1946 and now have it with HSFX 5.1.

I will not for the very considerable future, delete 1946 Modded, nor the other 1946 stock I have. They are incredible Simulations.

Wings of Prey is an incredible game, it's fun, impressively detailed and I can use it now.

I have CloD, it sits on my machine and I occasionally load it up and see if it's playable, but alas it's like being told you can race a car.....but you have to build it first.

Cliffs of Dover, for me as it stands currently, is like getting Tim Robinson's Meccano Difference Engine:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...4575376908189#

and then having to help fix it so it works!

I think for now, I'll continue with 1946 + HSFX 5.1 and also WoP, and wait while everyone enjoys fixing CloD for me ;)

Cheers, MP

I have WoP and I gotta admit I can't get past arcade mode , it's just too boring . About 20 mins was all I could stand ..

Do you actually know what Sim means?

Crimson skies was a Sim, it just wasn't a flight sim. Any idea why?

I bet you don't.
