Please use jafa's external sounds for the Merlin and Daimler Benz. He's the man when it comes to sounds.

I think that's supposed to be a visual effect of shrapnel. Even though in RL you wouldn't see it I believe. It may actually serve as a "bullet" so that if you get struck by the black line, it deals damage like a bullet. Don't know. Would be cool if the explosion served as a pressure center, throwing the plane around, and the shrapnel was what did the long-range damage.

After landing and stopping, the sound of wheels rolling on ground or something just does not stop. Tried with integrated sound card (AC97) and Creative Sound Blaster.

My game isn't playable at all, It starts up fine, but I only get a black screen when I try to start missions. sounds seem to load and play fine. Pilot and aircraft options screens are just black as well.

My specs:

NVidia 8800 GTS, 266.58 drivers
AMD Anthlon 64 FX-60 2.61 GHz
2 gigs RAM
Windows 7 64 bit

You should probably post your system specs, because any troubleshooter will need that information.

Dual Quad Core 2,4 ghz 4 GB Ram. GT9800 with 1GB RAM. 4 GB Ram. Windows 7 32 bit.

I will get a new computer next week:

Intel Core? i7 Hexa Processor i7-970
Hexa Core, 3,2Ghz, Socket 1366, 12MB, QPI: 4,8GT/s

Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz 6GB CL9
Kit w/3x 2GB XMS3 modules, CL9-9-9-24, for Core i7

Gainward GeForce GTX 460 2GB PhysX CUDA
PCI-Express 2.0, "Golden Sample - GS", GDDR5, 2xDV

Corsair SSD Force Series? F120, 120GB
SATA2, 2,5", 285MB/275MB/s read/write, incl 2,5" t

I think I will install Windows 7 64 bits with this machine.

Can be interesting to find out if it helps with the stuttering

Is the patch coming to all versions? A friend of mine pre-ordered the Steam version

The self-centering "spring" effect that uses the FFB motors to center the stick works, but there are no shaking effects for gunfire/turbulence/vibrations/stalls or increasing resistance for increased airspeed etc...

Hey Strike !!! Our systems hardware are quite the same but I am still waiting for steam launch at 31st. Can you tell me how the game is running and the level of details that you can afford with your machine???

I ask because most posts here are from people with outdated rigs hardware. It's important to have feedback from high level machines so we can decide if its possible to run this game with hardware available at stores or if we have to wait a year for better GPUs and processors.

Thanks

i can confirm the lag of sticks inside the cockpit.but may its only my crappy pc.

Sorry mate, I don't have it yet. (Though I've been reading the how-to obtain the russian version many times trying to decide). I figured it's more hassle than time-worth at this time before release and the english is going to help... ALOT!

I can run Crysis 1080p 2xAA and all settings max (except max post-processing) with this rig. Crysis warhead ran much smoother. Rise of Flight is smooth at MAX with 2x AA, there it merely depends on the amount of planes. 20 planes in a dogfight lowers FPS a notch, but not to unplayable levels.

Judging by other users's specs when playing CoD, I don't think my rig is going to sweat alot playing the game. The FPS have been reported to be quite fluid with the exception of the micro-stutters
