Its been along time since high end PCs haven't been a rip off through lack of competition.

All this is speculation - at best. Once Bulldozer really comes out we will see. Already the latest i7's and i5's are over 30% faster clock per clock than their predecessors. Bulldozer has the time until IveyBridge comes out. If that graph above is true at all.
And if we're to judge on nVidia's dominance on the GPU market today I don't hold my hopes high. It is like they switched roles from last year. Now AMD runs super hot and is lagging behind.
In any case, if AMD really manages to pull this one off, mind you this is their first new architecture from 2003, no on would be more happier than me. :)
