I'm having the same problem with AA not working, and it did seem to have something to do with TiR5, but the problem wasn't consistent. I'll have a look at GLOverride.

Yeah, I also have TrackIR 5.. forgot to mention that, I got so excited when I finally got the AA working... :)

Having trouble with using GLOverride. How do you install it? And to confirm, when I start the game with TiR5 running, no AA. Start without it, and AA works normally. Something change with the TiR drivers?

Alpha, tested and tweaked a bit :) Works fine! But Effects=2 just causes buggy effects and major FPS hit so I left it on 1. Otherwise very nice :) And still I use Water=0 if I go online.

Hmm.. in my case, I don´t think TrIR was the problem. I could never get AA, with or without TrIR..

As for GLOverride... there are instructions, right..? ;)

You place the two files in your 1946 Main folder.. Then open the text file (of the two) and change what you what... (eg. ForceMSAAMode = 4)...
The .dll then does the work for you when you launch..

Thanks Cap'n. I did that, to no effect. But I did solve the problem.

Trackir5 was clearly my problem. When I would start the game without it, AA worked normally. Start the game with it and no AA. I reinstalled Tir4, and no problems with it and AA. I emailed NaturalPoint to let them know, so we'll see what happens. It's nice to have AA again!

Alright, glad you sorted it out!

I've found the UP 2.01 can cause some strange FPS loss with new maps and cockpit textures.

A clean v409m absolutely flies though :)

Testing on stock. Flying 2.01 as I can not stand the original Bf109 cockpits ;) They are hideous after you see Der Wüstenfuchs's new ones :D And Anto/JapanCat did great job on updating the 3D model of the Bf109 too, finally the cockpit framing is closer to real and general shape of the plane is not a Lego block anymore :D

But thanks again for the tip, gonna give Stock a run ;)

PS! Seems the MSI 480GTX has settled on about 48-50'C idle temperature and after IL-2 to about 70-78'C. Could get it lower if I ramped up the cooling fan speeds on the computer case but not really an option as I do not want a vacuum cleaner in the bedroom :D

As you know, I have an MSI 480GTX also.

I have never had high temps or excessive noise.
