Hard to say this,but the whole reason behind the lack of customers not falling over themselves wanting to buy you're expansion is that it costs just as much as the initial software itself,which is mad.

I do understand that the Expansion is in German only. I am prepared to try it on an English install if it works that way.
I will just have to relearn German.

This 'expansion' is just some extra-missions, no point to pay for that IMHO.

Another one spoiled by 1946.

But even for 1946, with millions of free mission packs, there were people not satisfied with second best, willing to wade through tons of, lets say : less well made missions, to find the diamond in the rough.
I, for my part; find it pretty difficult to get a mission pack on the quality level of the desastersoft products.
But there are always people who pinch every penny. :D

yes it work with English Clod, but you have some problems to understand the commands to win the Mission.
You must understand a little German.

It's beyond my understanding why you don't offer a digital download purchase. I would save 15 euro. I would pay the 24 euro but with the additional 15 euro for shipping the expansion is way to expensive. I would also get additional customs taxes. I can get a full AAA title for that price.

Sorry, but this kind of sales marketing is ridiculous and you guys are actually hurting your own company. You need to change your policy if you want to earn money.

Because if they did that they couldn't ask people to pay for it after getting free help.

they will continue to sell the german version. the 3rd party english translation pack will be installed over that.

I think that is a great idea, it wouldn't exactly ruin the campaign to have the text (only) available on the internet, a digital download version of the add-on would be nice too. :D

Yes they could; simply sign away your rights to the translation to Desatersoft or do a work for hire contract (no money has to change hands for a contract to be legally binding).

I can't get shipping to here. I've tried Amazon.de, same result, Amazon.fr doesn't list the pack.

It´s translated. This Missions do not need much translation. They are only for Testing and shooting, but nice anyway :). I did it by myself... not good, but should be enough for the test.

No, adonys, i wont give it a third try. Wick vs Dundas will not be awailable in english, i think. Maybe the new one, we are working on. First Campaign is still ready with 70 Missions, special made for the new Career System.

About the Career System:

It has a Penalty system for Difficult settings between 10 - 50 % for each setting. So if you fly in less diffiult settings, you have to do more Kills for Medals. If you disable CEM + Icons on you have to kill 100% more to earn a Knights Cross, for Exsample. Unlimited Ammo and such Arcarde causes in no Status at Campaign System.

Also Penaltys for Following Cases:

Dead is Dead. Campaign Ends if you die.
Wounded causes in 1-5 Missions out (belongs to the Pilot Status in %)
POW - causes in End of Campaign, except you can Escape. The % Range that you can Escape belongs to the Distance to the Frontline.
Bail out causes in 1 Mission out. If your Para does not open, look Case 1 ;)
Crash Landing can cause in 1 Mission out, because of Repairing your AC or order a new AC


You will see tomorrow at noon i think.

Robert (robtek) is in our Team now for translation. He has sended some proofs of Work and it is excellent. With a bit of luck, you can order Wick vs. Dundas as DL Version in January 2012, and the next Expansion "Channel Battles 1940 - Part I" in April 2012.

I just went to Desastersoft's website and the download version of Fliegerasse is available in Euros.

You can buy it from the US via Download. Boxed Version will not come for US/EN.
By the bad Sales Figures of the DL Version of Wick vs. Dundas, Thomas maybe will Stop Translation of Channel Battles. He doubts that it makes any sence to invest any more money in english language projects. It´s like throwing money out of an open Window.

It 'a shame, however, buy now the first expansion.

Is it normal? (i'm completely lost in german :grin:)

it seems you have installed the German language Demo Version of Channel Battles - 1940, correct? So just hit updater and all should be fine again ;). Reason: You have not an english Steam running. So the Language switches to German, when you have a German Demo of us installed. Dimitri is fixing it now. Hotfix via Updater in a few minutes.

I fear the current state of CloD has something to do with it. Maybe the next patch will change that.

Looking very much forward to the KG53 campaign, if level bombing is fixed for the German bombers in CloD.

I've bought the english full version (not demo) download.
When i started the game, at first all interface buttons were missing!
So i started the updater, and get all the buttons back...but in german! (as some text too, but briefings in english))

I'll try to update again tomorrow and report back...thanks for quick reply!

I've just picked up the English download version and it's a very nice addition for anyone that likes CloD. Enough missions and variety to keep you going for ages.

The only slight minus points are for some dodgy translation and spelling errors in mission briefings and mission success and failure messages (post mission) still seem to be in German (I've updated!). If you need any help with this Desastersoft, I'd be happy to help with correct spelling and phrasing.

All in all a must have and I look forward to 'Channel Battles' in English ;).

Me to. Love the Dundas expansion and i'm now waiting for the english Channel battles. I asked about it and was told to read about it on SimHQ but there is nothing announced there.

Some Guy of SimHQ asked fro an Interviewabout Desastersoft and Wick vs. Dundas. He would release it on last friday, pleased me to hurry for this with the answers. He also would write a review about Wick vs. Dundas. So i trusted in his words. Sorry for this.

Yes, Channel Battles Series will be released in engl. too by the End of Summer. September i think. Maybe Robtek can write here, how long it takes for him with the translation.

Iam finally able to run CLOD with decent performance. All the time i had the addon but did not fly because of the game problems! Normally i fly Multiplayer but i remember the desastersoft addon i purchased a while go! Its so cool! Iam hooked now! It has everything that CLOD should have in the beginning! Award, Medals, Rank and so on. I wish i could fly it with my squadmates as an online campaign!

I bought the English version. It downloaded and installed no prob. So far it runs very well on my system, and the airfields are well-populated and feel "alive".

I haven't played it in awhile due to no fault of Disastersoft. The AI, specifically my wingmen, act like absolute gits to my air combat commands (other than formation commands). Once the AI is sorted out by the MG devs, I'll look forward to some very engaging SP action!

Wich one from Desastersoft. They made two expansions. I own both of them but didnt flew them as with my last GC i had troubles.
Now CLOD is working nearly well.

I read if i am right, one of the new expansions will deal with Adolf Galland.

I have been playing the Wick vs Dundas expansion since the English D/L version became available, excellent work!!

I was just wondering if there are any plans to update it to allow us to choose the 100 octane variants of the RAF planes,(I appreciate that they are only available in the Beta meantime) or if there is some way we can mod it ourselves to allow this?

Nevermind, I figured out that you can edit the missions in the main folder and change your plane there, that'll do meantime :)
