The first thing headlined in the video is "corrected flight models".

The problem is how you define "Corrected". Sure, CloD has some issues, but I would like to see a changelist rather than "OMG, the Tigermoth is Ubers!"

Talk is pretty cheap!

Take another careful long look at the video and pay attention to the text lines accompanying and also "listen".

The guy was a modder for Il-2 and is currently on the dev team working on Il-2. I think he knows a thing or two about code and what can or can't be done with it simply by understanding its architecture.

Other people know things about code as well ;)

Flight model 'correction' is defined as making the aircraft flight characteristics as close to published real-life specifications (at all atitudes) from the period (1940) as possible.

I thought the problem was that the modders where unable to "really being able to rework deeply in game code"?
Why would you assume that the only correction made to the FM is making the Tigermoth “uber”? Makes no sense....

Well, just because he can't get into the code does not mean no one else can...

Don't get too agitated, some people are just sceptical. Nothing bad about it. Once the patch is public and folks can see what improvements are there, praise and criticism can and will be much more objective. Until then, good luck and thanks to Team Fusion! Hopefully their efforts can breathe more life into CoD.

Will it be available through steam?

No, it will be a seperate DL with it's own installer.

MaxGunz 02-26-2013 01:44 AM

Not that I will get it because I -still- can't run it but please consider putting up some pars for the DL if it's big? Some day, the community should learn to use par files to verify and fix corrupt DL's.

Its very true what most say that CoD can be only popular if max hardware requirements are not higher than the average users PC (we will get there in 1-2 years). But this is the first patch, they probably fixed what they could fix fast.
You can not know what other upgrade projects are going on in the background.
They probably could use some encouragement, not useless remarks about their logo etc ;)

CWMV 02-26-2013 01:25 PM

It certainly sounds like they have their priorities straight though, fixing the FMs first.
I believe I read something about looking at netcose after first patch release? Not sure what that's about.

Nice job Atag.
Still I undertand Caspar misgievings. CloD is a sim that is exageratedly on the useless detail side.
Even so, I think that Atag's group are just flexing their muscles, and sharing their first approach on the sim modding/coding?. I believe they are extremely happy with their progress, so lets see what they can do, and open the fireworks later.
Best wishes to Atag, and a lot of patience on elevating yourselves to the godlike status on il2 world. (Everything wrong will be your fault now!) :P
